I removed a divider wall in my living room to make more space. I needed the ceiling repaired and popcorn texture to match what I had, and the wall needed finished too. LVinnie came out and gave me options. His bid was very reasonable. I figured since its the busy time of year, I wouldnt have repairs done till Fall but was good with it. The great work is worth waiting for. Vinnie sent his sheet rock specialist, Steve, out the next day and started the job. He returned and finished the job the next day and its beautiful!!!! You cant tell where the old texture begins and the new was added on the wall and ceiling. Vinnie and Steve are the nicest folks you will ever want to meet. If I could give 10 stars I would!

I was referred to Vinny by the selling agent of a home I recently bought. Initially I just wanted my popcorn ceilings to be skim-coated but after Vinny went and looked at them he talked me out of it and said I wouldn't be happy and that there was a good chance it would fall off. Instead, he recommended drywalling over the popcorn...more expensive to be sure...be a better longer-term solution. I also had an old knock-down wall texture that I had planned on painting white and calling it good. Vinny is so passionate about drywall work that he gave me a good-natured hard-sell and asked that I trust him to skim-coat and paint the walls as well. He guaranteed that I would love it. I do love it. I honestly didn't think such smooth, beautiful walls were even possible. Vinny and his team transformed a dated, 1970s home into something sleek and modern. As someone else said in their review, I think I made a new friend as well. Vinny is one of the kindest and friendliest people I've met and his crew is too. You'll also love working with Manuel, his lead finisher and painter. As Vinny says, Manuel just wants to paint the world. He and Pedro do an amazing job. Vinny is now "my" drywall and paint guy. If you're looking for similar work you absolutely won't go wrong. He'll treat you with respect, offers amazing work for a fair price, and you'll probably make another family friend.

Vinny was great to work with. We are remodeling our house and had some old drywall patches on the ceiling that were done poorly and a bunch of new wall and ceiling patches. UD's crew made all of it disappear. They did all the finish work, texture and painted for us, for a reasonable price and in the timeframe they said. They were reliable, trustworthy and friendly. They did great work. I would highly recommend using UD for your next drywall job.

I don't usually write reviews, although I rely on them. This might help someone else in our position to be proactive with this company. Our experience was not that of other reviewers. Not sure why our experience was so different from others, but it bears sharing. To begin, I should say that we are happy with the final product. We believe that's primarily because the last two days of our job, Vincent came in and redid work and finished the job. Two people did in two days what crews weren't able to do in three weeks. We commend him for that. We purchased our new (older) home at the end of August and had 60 days to occupy to be in compliance with our mortgage. It needed updating so while the house was empty, we remodeled and removed and reconstructed a few walls. We have remodeled several homes and knew dry wall patching and the difference in textures was beyond our scope. We solicited several bids. Years ago we had a similar job done (smaller scale) that took about a week. I wasn't able to locate that contractor, which was the reason we solicited bids. All ended up being comparable to the bid Vincent eventually presented us, but we relied on the recommendation of a neighbor who worked with Vincent. It took awhile to get a hold of him, but he came by and, although we needed the project to move more quickly, stated that he would need two weeks from start to finish because of his workload. Although the timeline was tough, we were impressed by him. The timelines others bid for the job was 3 days to a week. One quote we received included removing popcorn ceilings, which we ended up doing ourselves. The factors that affect our review are: 1) Significant underbidding - the job came in at over $2,000 over the quote, which significantly impacted our budget. 2) Poor project management - given we were by the house every day to pick up mail, we observed that work was sporadic and we don't believe Vincent visited our home until the end of the job. He bid 48 hours and at the end, charged us for 75. When we asked about the difference in the bid, his assistant provided a breakdown of hours, but it's our feeling that subs overcharged, were poorly managed and weren't monitored. In addition, the two week lead time turned into three and was headed for a fourth week until we insisted it be finished so we could start laying floors and installing our kitchen. If they couldn't finish we were moving forward anyway and intended to cover everything and work around the crews. We didn't have a choice. 3) Poor communication - We didn't receive updates unless we called or texted to ask for updates. We only learned of the sliding lead times when we contacted them. When we were able to talk, we were told people quit, someone got hurt, etc. Things happen, but that's something we shouldn't have to learn about because our job has stalled and we made a call. Proactive customer service matters. At the end of the job, Vincent stated he anticipated the bill to be in line with his bid. When we received it, and it was so much higher than the quote, Vincent never addressed us directly and instead left his office manager to deal with our questions and concerns. We ultimately paid the entire bill because it's a matter of doing what you say you will do. In a nutshell, if you're not living in the home while the work is being done so that you can monitor who is coming and going and what's being done, be sure your bid includes a detailed timeline, scheduled regular check-ins and weekly details about the subs coming and going. I reiterate, we are pleased with the end product. At the same time, the impact to our budget meant we aren't able to do other things we needed to do and we moved into a house under construction. It's not the worst thing that can happen, but when you're doing all the work yourself and work full-time, it creates unnecessary stress and strain. For that reason, we don't recommend this company. Not only did we have a better experience years ago with a different company, friends and coworkers have worked with others and been pleased.
