They advertise strongly that they are licensed and insured, but it is only a business license and not a contractor license and you do not want to find out the hard way what the difference is.

Before hiring any contractor in Virginia, I always make a point to verify their credentials through the states public License Lookup database, which is maintained by the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation (DPOR). In this case, I was unable to locate JR Drywall under the Virginia DPOR License Lookup, and there was no license number provided anywhere on their website. Wanting to be thorough, I called directly to ask for a license number, but the person I spoke with was not able to provide one. To be clear, Im not making any legal accusationsonly sharing my experience as a consumer who tries to follow Virginias recommended steps for verifying contractor qualifications. In a field where proper licensing protects both the homeowner and the contractor, the lack of clear documentation is concerning. I strongly recommend that anyone considering JR Drywallor any contractortake a moment to check the DPOR License Lookup site and ensure that all required credentials are valid and up to date. Doing so provides peace of mind and helps ensure that the work is performed by professionals who meet the states standards.

What a great experience working with John, Steff, and crew. Great communication, beautiful work! We had drywall put up, popcorn ceiling scraped, plaster with swirls on walls & ceiling (lovely ! ) in family room, and repair plaster and install recessed lighting in kitchen. They also painted and installed baseboards. The crew was friendly and hard workers. We signed the contract, they started 2 weeks later and completed all the work in 7 working days! We could not be happier with the work and highly recommend them!

An amazing company. I called JR Drywall & Designs by Steff for a 3x4 repair to my ceiling, which is popcorn, and very difficult to repair. They told me they would come out the next morning. I was so relieved they could get there that quickly. John and Steff showed up when they said they would, fixed my repair in two hours and did an absolutely perfect job on my ceiling. They were so nice and friendly. I asked them what the & Designs by Steff was for, and if they did kitchen remodels, and they said, oh yes, went into my kitchen, and must have known exactly what I wanted because they started making suggestions about what I could do and how it would look. I hired them that day. I truly needed their design help because I have been trying to get my kitchen remodeled for about seven years and just couldnt decide what I wanted. They did everything for the remodel from start to finish. I loved how professional and creative they were, how they cleaned up when done and how they kept me informed on all phases of the remodel. They made something Ive been dreading for years, fun and exciting. Theyre fantastic to work with and I would recommend them for just about any project you have in your house. I will be calling them again for other projects. Thank you for my beautiful new kitchen!

John and Steff were great to work with. I had a couple of drywall patches to do with textured wall and ceiling. They were on time, worked quickly, super clean, and repairs look great. Its obvious they care about the quality of their work and the impression they leave with a customer. I would definitely hire again and highly recommend.

had a few leaks in my ceiling from the air ducts. I called JR drywall and John came over right away to take a look at it and was able to give me a quote right there. While I was out of town they worked on the drywall and duct work and throughout the whole job Steff kept me posted. They even let my dog out too to take care of his business!! They finished the job within and a week and it looks good as new. I would highly recommend them in a heartbeat. I truly appreciate the work they did and how professional John and the team is.
