Interiors Group of SC, Inc. (owner and operator Ginger Pickens) was the general contractor for a remodeling project at Union United Methodist Church in Irmo, SC. The scope of the project was to combine two rooms into one larger common meeting room. The plan called for the removal of walls, ceilings and doors, and installation of columns, doors, lighting, new flooring, and window coverings. In addition to this church project, Interiors Group also renovated a church-owned building with new flooring, paint and bathroom updates. Specifically, we want to give Interior Groups top marks in the following areas: 1. Quality of work performed and work crews. The quality of work done was consistently top notch. Gingers crews were professional, reliable, courteous, and respectful of our church environment. Her subcontractors were knowledgeable, skilled, and competent in their respective trades. They all were conscientious about following project specifications, and worked independently without the need for supervision. 2. Project management and coordination. Gingers prior experience working on large commercial construction projects really paid off. She was knowledgeable about all aspects of our project, and was able to plan, coordinate and manage the activities of different work crews effectively. Her excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills and commitment to follow-through are assets which enabled her to juggle the extensive details involved in our project without missing a beat. Gingers familiarity with building codes also facilitated a smooth and hassle-free process when it came to building specifications 3. Integrity and professionalism. Throughout the project, we were impressed with Gingers commitment to generating a top quality product, rather than maximizing her profit margin. Her crews and workers exuded professionalism. Often times, she gave us a verbal commitment that something would be done, and she always followed through on her word. 4. Flexibility, effectiveness, responsiveness dealing with churchs needs and timeline. Gingers commitment to our complete satisfaction was evident throughout the process. When situations arose where extra work needed to be done (because of changes the church made), Ginger took care of it without charging us anything extra. Several weeks into construction, we asked her to address several other problem areas in our church (drywall damage, ceiling repair, wiring and light installation). She happily agreed to do whatever we asked! What a refreshing change from other contractors in the business. 5. Value. Interiors Group provided great work at a reasonable price. Out of three bids we received, her price was by far the best. In closing, Union UMC was very pleased with the renovation of our new commons room, and we are extremely impressed with Gingers work as a general contractor. In a world where shoddy workmanship and poor service are unfortunately all too common, Ginger is indeed a rare find. We believe Interiors Group of SC, Inc. exceptional work should be recognized. We would not hesitate to hire Ginger again, or to recommend her company to others.
