Drywall Experience New Construction in Milaca Im building a new home in Milaca and recently completed the drywall portion of the project with Mike. The home is approximately 2,400 ft2 total, including a two-stall garage, with just over 1,600 ft2 of finished living space. I paid $25,075 for drywall hanging, taping, and finishingby far the highest quote I received. I chose him because he repeatedly claimed to be the best in the business and promised top-tier quality. Based on the price and those assurances, my expectations were high. I acted as the general contractor for this build and fully understand that some responsibilities fall on the GC. That said, I ended up doing an unreasonable amount of prep work that I believe should have been handled by the drywall contractorespecially at this price point. Mike and I walked through the house together and discussed drywall backers and doorway drywall stops. I made sure the framing was as good as possible, and any concerns were addressed. Despite that, I was later asked to go back through the entire house with a Sharpie to mark where drywall should start and stop at doorways and in bathrooms. Thats something a professional drywall contractor should be doing themselves, not pushing onto the homeowner. I was also instructed to make sure all wiring was pushed up out of the way to avoid being hit when holes were cut. I did that. After insulation was installed, some wires became visible again, and I was asked to go back through a second time to push everything up to limit liability. Again, more work dumped on mework I should not have been responsible for. When the drywall, mudding, and taping were completed, Mike asked me to walk the house and point out anything I didnt like. This was a Level 4 finish, and while I understand its not meant to be flawless, I do expect there not to be gouges, scratches, or obvious defects that can be seen or felt. I marked the issues with blue painters tapebecause for $25,000, Im going to inspect the work. It was immediately obvious that Mike was unhappy with how much I marked. He downplayed the issues and acted as if I was being overly picky, suggesting I was inspecting the walls unrealistically closely. I wasnt. I simply ran my hand over visible blemishesexactly the type of issues a competent taper should catch during sanding. For the amount of money I paid, I shouldnt have had to fight to get basic defects corrected. After the repairs were finally made, the house did look good. Unfortunately, thats where the positives end. When we discussed warranty coverage, it became clear that almost nothing is actually covered. Any cracking is blamed on house settling, and screw pops arent covered either. It was excuse after excuse, and very little accountability. Im not asking a contractor to take responsibility for everything forever, but refusing to stand behind screw popsassuming wet lumber and decent framingis unacceptable. To top it off, Mike strongly recommended using only matte paint because it hides drywall imperfections best. If Im paying $25,000 for drywall, I shouldnt need special paint to disguise defects. In the end, the finished product looks goodbut getting there was exhausting. I felt like I had to fight every step of the way, and I did far more of the prep work than I ever should have. For the amount of money charged, this experience left me feeling ripped off. Would I recommend this company? If price doesnt matter and youre not detail-oriented, maybe. But if you take pride in your home and expect workmanshipand accountabilitythat matches a premium price, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere. I needed drywall taped, mudded and sanded in two rooms on a short timeline. Mike got me a quote and scheduled me quickly. Rick worked through a weekend to get it done. The fast turnaround was greatly appreciated, and the quality didn't suffer for it. Rick is a pleasure to work with. He has a great attention to detail, is thorough and thoughtful, and takes every precaution to minimize the dust mess afterwards. Once he was done, Mike made sure that we were satisfied with the work (which we were!) and gave us suggestions on painting. I would HIGHLY recommend these guys to anyone. I've tried to DIY drywall finish work in the past. I can get by, but certainly not at this level of quality or speed (it took Rick 3 days and probably would have taken me 3 weeks). Save your back and call Right Choice Drywall - you won't regret it!

Our family needed to fix up our house to sell. Our project included knockdown ceilings, and repairing damaged walls. We had a great experience with Right Choice Drywall. Mike was very thorough in his estimate which was very fair. Rick was amazing!! His attention to detail was outstanding. He went above and beyond our expectations. Rick even offered us use of some of his tarps for painting. Our old house looks like new. We were able to get above asking price on the sale!
