I had a very disappointing experience with Mr. Handyman. I originally contacted them to replace a lock after being referred through Home Depot. They provided an estimate of $2,389.80 and required a deposit of $1,194.90, which I paid. After several visits, they were unable to complete the lock installation. Instead, they later told me the entire door needed to be replaced and sent a new estimate for over $16,000. Replacing the door was never my intention I only wanted the lock changed. Since no work was completed and everything remains exactly the same as before, I requested a refund of my deposit. Unfortunately, they refused, saying they would keep the money because they had already attempted the work. I understand companies deserve compensation for their time, but keeping such a large deposit without completing any actual work feels very unfair. I hope they improve their communication, pricing transparency, and customer service in the future.

Bobby provided excellent service. He arrived right on time, quickly identified the issues, fixed everything efficiently. The gutter lane was blocked, and had to replace the front fascia board wrap. He took care of the loosened screws and attached the new boards perfectly. Very professional and reliable work!

I had two ceiling fans installed and a large picture hung over my sofa. Technician Bobby was very courteous and professional. He placed tarp over beds to protect them. Checked with me before installing blades on the fans and answered any concerns I had. Did a fantastic job with installation. Carlos L did a great job patching the hole in my laundry room ceiling and adjusting the door wood trim, ogee molding and crown molding above a bedroom door. Im very happy with the work he did and plan to have him back to do other projects around my house.

We had a long list of to dos - fixing toilets, showers, sinks, dryer vent, etc. Maurice came, surveyed it all, gave us the cost, then got all the parts and fixed it all! The good: they communicate very well, let me know via email and text that theyre coming, and showed up on time. They even send a photo of the person who is coming to your home. A+ for communication which is why I gave 2 stars. The handyman was very polite. The bad: I was hiring them for a small job, to install 3 small shelves: 15 (length) by 3 (width). Each shelf required 2 screws (with anchors). They had been installed (by me) but they werent straight and I wanted them straight but have zero time. I was expecting to pay maybe $300 or so - a lot for some simple shelves yes but my time was worth it. Plus, Id hire them for other things if it worked out. The handyman could not get the shelves off the wall - theyre literally literally just pull off. He also didnt have anchors with them - to me thats kind of a basic but ok, I had some, no problem. Lastly - he wanted to charge $453 for service fee plus 2 hours of labor. In what world does it take 2 hours to install 6 screws?? No thanks. Will not hire again. Waste of $75 service fee to come out, which they did not mention up front. Dont get me wrong, its expected, but should be mentioned.

The handyman was very polite and did a great job cleaning our gutters and installing gutter guards/ repairing damaged gutter parts. The price was resonable. The scheduling was a little thwarted by weather, and the work was not done until the fith scheduled date. No fault of handyman.

They were prompt with scheduling and coming out pretty quick when we needed them. Gave them a punch list of things to get done and they did all the projects same day. When one of the projects didnt hold up they sent someone out right away. We worked mainly with Maurice who was knowledgeable, helpful and understanding of the things we needed done. Assuming all projects hold up, theyve become our new go to handy man people.

Kayla customer service rep, was the rudest person to talk to. Wanted to do some repairs for own of my Veteran borrowers, she just closed on my face and said there was an issue from her end. Rude and disrespectful, will never give them our business as we have alot of people/veterans who would need repairs in that area.

My technician Sammy T. did an excellent job explaining the solution to my issue and did quality work. He repaired a stairwell banister that had come loose due to foundation issues. I was extremely happy with the work performed by Service Professional Bobby B. of Mr Handyman in repairing the side of my end unit townhouse. Specifically two boards at the side and at the very top that go up to the ridge of the roof needed to be repaired and reinstalled. One board flew off completely, while the other board broke and half of it flew off. Bobby did an outstanding job of reinstalling the undamaged board, and repairing the broken board and reinstalling that board as well. Bobby was totally professional and the work was performed perfectly. I highly recommend Bobby B. for any home improvement work that homeowners may need.

I had a very frustrating experience with this company. I scheduled them to come at 8:00am. At 8:30 I got a text saying they were having van troubles and would come later. After not hearing anything further, I checked in at 11:00am with no response. I followed up again at noon, and finally got a reply at 12:30 that they would come between 34pm. At 2:30 I was told they now had two vans with issues and would update me once they knew more. At 3:30 they canceled altogether and said theyd look for another time. When I asked when that would be, they never responded. I understand that things happen, but the lack of communication and last-minute cancellations made this very unprofessional and a waste of my day.

They came out to power wash my house and my fence. My house and fence looks amazing now. Bobby was really good on asking questions and showing me things if he found something wrong with my fence or siding on the house. We have had Carlos out to the house for several work orders (including exhaust fan installation with new duct work, repairing drywall, realigning a door after house settling, building a custom column around an ugly basement post, and running a new electrical outlet among other jobs). He is on-time, works diligently, communicates well regarding process/ cost, leaves the work site at least as clean as before, and is always pleasant and respectful. He even takes time to walk through cost saving opportunities for jobs where that is possible. I trust him and request him by name each time.

Beware Price Gouging.! I requested an estimate for sanding and applying protective layer on patio wood inner-ceiling. They quoted me at $7,500. I went directly to the carpenter that Mr Handyman would hire. He charged me $1,200. Clarification: I did not hire a Mr. Handyman employee to do the job. I hired a carpenter I found else where. The point here is the ridiculous prices Mr. Handyman charges compared the actual cost of labor. Going by their response below, they clearly do not want to get that.

We had leaking from top of windows had had a few other service contractors look at the area and was not able to find Chris step right in a found the issue and fix it all had to go under the siding and put something that the builder didn't do.
