After having a disastrous experience with another contractor leaving a house sitting empty for a month and a half, I got a same day quote from JL Painting and they began work in two days. Job consisted of drywall repair, popcorn removal, ceiling skim coat and ceiling/wall paint. Even with the Christmas holidays in the middle of the job, they finished in two weeks and did a stellar job! Definitely would recommend! Not the cheapest price in the county, but if time matters to you, this is the crew to get.

The owner, Jovann, and his crew were professional, punctual, and made sure to clean up thoroughly at the end of each day. I interviewed five different contractors, and JL Painting and Drywall wasnt the highest or lowest bidbut they were the fairest and most reliable. Unfortunately, Jovann was a no call, no show for our quoting appointment. We had scheduled a specific day and time for him to come and quote a job for me and he never showed. He did not bother to reach out and let me know that he wasn't coming, which left me sitting around waiting and wasting my time. If you couldn't/didn't want to do the job, just say so. There is no need to keep someone waiting all day on you to not show up!

JL Painting and Drywall renovated our master bedroom area. They exceeded our expectations, and we highly recommend them. We moved stuff out of the area into every empty spot in the rest of the house and slept in the guest room. Based on experiences with other builders, we worried that we would have to keep things that way for a long time. They started the day they said they would, and they were here 8 to 12 hours a day, six days a week, until the job was done. The workmanship is top quality. Part of the project was to remove a damaged popcorn ceiling in the bathroom. The finished ceiling is perfect. Jovann did some minor drywall repairs in another part of the house where a crack had developed and where there was some old water damage. We expected that because the paint had been there a while, that you would be able to see where the repair is. You cannot, even if you know where to look. Jovann is easy to work with and has a good eye for aesthetics. He is resourceful and has someone who can do a great job with whatever is needed: HVAC, drywall, framing, painting, sheet metal, electrical, roofing, etc. We subsequently had JL Painting and Drywall finish some space in an outbuilding, and the workmanship again exceeded expectations.

Im writing this review for an experience that is not my own, but my sister and brother-in-laws. I feel so strongly about warning people about this company and at least letting you know about their experience, so you can make an informed decision. I personally witnessed all they have gone through with this company and have seen the poor quality of what was supposed to be their finished work. First, lets start with the fact that this job was supposed to be done much sooner. My sister, brother-in-law, their pets and all of their belongings were displaced for months and months. It went so much over in fact, that they hurried up and made multiple mistakes just to complete the job because they had other people waiting. They never fully completed the remodel and basically left and never returned. They didnt reply to requests to finish the work nor did they provide an itemized statement that has been requested multiple times, which the insurance company requires to reimburse for the damage. Some of the trim has paint from the wall on it, some trim has places with no paint, trim & baseboards were cut too short and left, the brand new luxury plank flooring installed upstairs is bowed in multiple places, so much so, in one room the bedroom door wont close, just to name a few. Its unfortunate that this company took a really bad situation and made it so much worse. My sister and brother-in-law were already under so much stress due to all the damage to their home and being displaced. They could have come in and done the right and honest thing and made this situation much easier for them, but they chose to do poor quality work, be dishonest, and cause more stress...all while taking the money.

For the best value for your home, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I saw an honest review from Janet, and my husband and I share similar thoughts and experiences with her. However, rather than it being a ceiling, as in her case, it is our upstairs flooring that we initially thought was installed correctly, only to have it all buckle. The entire upstairs flooring, including 4 bedrooms and the hallway is visibly bowed, and its been down just 2-3 months, at the most. One bedroom door wont even shut because of this! We recently had family visit and stay with us, and each and every person who walked on it shared a look of uncertainty (and, sadness for us!) for how messed up it is. This was good quality LVP from a local flooring store that was simply installed incorrectly. In all reality, this is ONE OF MANY installation errors that we are left with. Unfortunately, $95,000+ later (that we have already paid Jovan), and multiple issues that he and his crew were just planning to leave as is, had we not spoken up, and many that are still in need of repair. Beware folks! At quick glance, what might initially look ok, will only be a matter of time before the installation errors reveal themselves (tile cracked during shower door install in 2 of the tiled showers, rusty screws for a poolside hut done less than 2 years ago by Jovan because outdoor screws were not used, bowed floors, doors that wont close, and on and on and on!). This was one of the texts sent to Jovan, and read, mind you, and no response.

I am disappointed in the job Jovaan did for me. I initially thought he had done a decent job but now after a few weeks i see it looks worse now than before he fixed it. The ceiling nail pops are awful!! I would not recommend this company and specifically Jovaan to do any work for you. I hate writing bad reviews but to be honest and to help others sometimes you have to. I am going to add some photos here but i doubt that I can tag them.these pictures are from after the repair. This guy should be ashamed of getting paid for this.

I had some nine foot walls that needed to be painted as I dont do ladders anymore. There was some drywall separation and a water leak on my ceiling in my sunroom that they fixed like new and repainted. He also checked the roof for leaks. The painter was on time, professional in his work and helped put things back in place. Would highly recommend this company.
