If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Our A/C gave out last week and Ricardo was able to come out the same day I reached out to him to assess it. He was extremely knowledgeable and figured out what was wrong. He gave us our options, was honest about the realities of our older home's HVAC situation, and answered all of our questions. We decided to replace the A/C compressor, and Ricardo was able to come back within a couple days to do the install. He was efficient and now our home is back to sustaining cold temps. I cannot recommend Ricardo enough!!

Richardo and his crew were simply amazing - They were on time, their work was fast and efficient. During the job I asked them to take on a lot more work, which they did. Without their assistance the project would have never been completed on time. Richardo was responsive and his communication was top notch. He worked out many extra details without a hitch. I was super lucky to find his company, as I am from out of town and had no experience with DC. I was very impressed with him and his crew. I would hire them again for any project, In fact I wish I had him involved for the bulk of the project, as it would have been completed in a more timely fashion. I cannot say enough good things about them. Highly recommend!! I wish he lived in my area for future projects!

Can't recommend Handyman Services enough! We first called Ricardo when the smoke detectors in our home were randomly going off every evening. He was able to come out the next morning and fix the issue quickly. A few weeks later, Ricardo and Cesar came out to do HVAC maintenance on our house - they did a great job, and now we're planning on having them take care of a few other projects around our house that we've been meaning to get to for a while. Super professional, very informative, and incredibly helpful. We've been looking for a good handyman in DC for years, and finally found them!

Ricardo and his crew Installed a railing on the front porch, replaced a gutter on the back porch, repaired and replaced tiling in a walk-in shower, repaired an outdoor gate, some painting and a couple of other smaller jobs, all within a matter of 4-5 days over a 2-week period. Ricardo and his crew were *amazing*! We had our kitchen updated to include replacing laminate countertops with quartz and installing a tile backsplash. The first time we met Ricardo, we immediately knew he was the person for the job. He took his time trying to understand our needs and provided thoughtful input about how to achieve the best outcome. We had the best customer service experience with Ricardo that we've had with *any* service provider in the District. He was detail-oriented, communicative and set clear expectations at every stage. He perfectly executed our instructions and vision. There were a few surprises along the way (the need for a new garbage disposal and an issue with mounting our new microwave to older cabinets). With each challenge, Ricardo explained our options, gave his opinion about how to best approach the situation and was clear about impacts on cost. We also have four pets (yes, four!) and we were worried about them being in the way during the renovation. Ricardo immediately put those concerns to rest, taking time to greet each pet and asking about their personalities. He was patient with them when they were curious about what he was doing, and he took good care with coming and going while we were at work. By the time the job was completed, he'd dubbed two of the pets as his construction supervisors and nearly tried to take our long-haired cat home with him! As animal people, this meant a lot and helped put us at ease with leaving him alone with the pets. When we had our final walk though and paid our bill, Ricardo insisted he come back one last time to fix a small area that he felt needed a bit of paint. Though we offered to just do it ourselves, Ricardo said he felt most comfortable completing this finishing touch himself - an example of what an incredible perfectionist he is. We plan to update our bathroom within the next six months, and we wouldn't consider asking anyone else to do it. We cannot recommend him highly enough!

My experience with Ricardo was absolutely wonderful. He was very responsive and professional - sending a same-day complete and detailed estimate even past midnight - gave us exact time slots, kept us on the loop of any changes, accommodated to our tight timeframe and finished the job at the said budget. Ricardo and Cesar had to fill a patch of our drywall ceiling and paint over it. They were meticulous in their work, mindful of our floor and furniture on a rainy day, and their finished product was near-perfect. We understood going in that partially painting the ceiling would leave it noticeable, but they managed to make the end-product look seamless. Luckily they had paint that matched very closely to ours, but it also helped that they didnt give up until they found the right one. They offered that we follow up with them the next day when the paint dried, and covered up another stain that we hadnt even noticed before. Plus theyre fun to talk to. Well definitely keep them in mind for our next project and would recommend them to others!

We own an apartment in a 1920s coop. This is Ricardos second project for us. First, in 2012, he refinished the floors. This time we asked him to fully renovate the kitchena complete gut job that, among other things, included knocking down a non-load bearing wall separating the kitchen and living room. We were thrilled that he accepted the project. Before he started the work, Ricardo met with us in person a couple of times. He asked tons of questions, listened attentively, and fully understood our visionto fully modernize the space (plumbing, electric, new cabinets, etc.) while retaining as much 1920s character as possible. Ricardo takes great pride in his work, and throughout the project, he went above and beyond to help us execute our vision, and then some. He carefully removed, restored, and reinstalled the original baseboards; he found perfect 1920s-era cabinet hardware at a home improvement store store late one night; and he and he and Rosanna provided countless recommendationson light fixtures, subway tiles, floor tiles, etc.to retain as much character as possible Ricardo continuously explained the progress to date, the next steps, and the overall roadmap. Ricardo, Rosanna, and the entire crew left our house clean and tidy each night. They are genuinely kind, trustworthy, down-to-earth peoplethe kind of people you want in your house and the kind of people you want to be friends withand were also really good with our dog and cat, both of whom were home during the project The before and after photos are almost unbelievable. Its been several months, and were still blown away by the final product. Ricardo and his crew did an amazing job, right down to the tiniest details. We keep saying our new kitchen should be featured in a magazine, or something. We have recommended Ricardo to colleagues and other neighbors. And we cant wait to ask Ricardo and his crew to do our bathroom, hopefully next year.
