Hired these guys to hang and finish all of my drywall in my house. By far, the worst experience I have ever had with a contractor. Jeff was very nice throughout the bidding process. As soon as we were supposed to start, no one showed up. The next day, NO ONE on my job could speak English and they were hanging 1/2 drywall on my (24 trusses) ceilings with no glue. Then, they were typing in their phones to translate to English. Jeff was then no where to be found. They buried wires and outlets, they got liquid nails all over my brand new garage floor, swept screws right into my driveway, made massive piles of drywall in my front yard, didnt cover my brand new furnace when they sanded, have drywall dust and liquid nails all over my front porch. To top it off, Jeff was arrogant enough to blame me for these things. Bill, the owner, was nice after I escalated, but I never want a homeowner to experience what my wife and had to experience. Our brand new home is a mess and has cost us several thousand dollars to try to fix everything that was ruined/damaged.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE experience!!! We dealt with Jeff for a pretty large job in Lawrenceville. Full drywall throughout entire home. Although the price was much more than we were quoted by other companies - we opted to go with 5-Star as they "seemed to be" a larger company and we figured we'd get quality service for the price. HUGE MISTAKE. HUGE. Jeff was nice enough when he came out to walk the property (which was the one and only time he ever stepped foot back on the project). When it came time to install, 2 men that spoke zero english showed up - they had no clue what the job was so we had to try to communicate with hand signals and the little spanish I speak. Nobody was there to direct them as should have been. I had tried to get a hold of Jeff during this time and frankly throughout the entire project and he NEVER answered his phone. I mean NEVER!!!! I'd get text responses back hours later with every excuse from "was tied up with our Quickbooks" to "My mom fell and I thought I might have to take her to the hospital". SO UNPROFESSIONAL. Never in my years of rehabbing properties have I dealt with this kind of unprofessionalism from a company. On top of which, the guys that showed up to install said they had no idea who Jeff was. They said their boss was someone called "Jorge". Apparently they just sub out all the work to other vendors - the crew is not their own. On top of all this we still pushed fwd trying to get the job done - another huge mistake. The install job was not only left UNFINISHED. The guys were there for 3 days and just left with no heads up - I thought they were coming back to finish but to my surprise, they thought they were done. They left lots of drywall uninstalled - the drywall that was left installed was awful. It was so bad that the crew we had come out to finish - had to remove and replace about 35% of the drywall. I will also mention...in numerous areas, the drywall was not screwed into ANYTHING. Our new drywall company removed literally 100's of floating screws before mudding and taping. Such an awful company! They literally cost us $1,000's of dollars in replace/repair/finishing costs and a ton of time lost. They also threatened us with liens on the property if we didn't pay their supposedly "discounted" price which having done this for years, I know for a fact wasn't discounted. We ended up paying it to just brush our hands of them entirely . I'm including photos from the final job as left by 5-Star. Do yourselves a favor and run the other way!!!!

I would like to commend Brad Preston for the drywall and painting that he did at our home. Brad Preston came on Tuesday, July 1, 2015 and repaired all of the repairs (the ones that we thought were complete before applying paint. He did a fantastic job! He also went out of his way and came back on July 2, 2015, (in the evening after completing a full day work elsewhere) to paint over the repairs. This is the type of contractor that you should hire. A contractor that takes pride in his work and it shows. His work is awesome!
