We couldn't be happier that we chose Shawn to do our primary bath remodel. We appreciated that he told us he likes to quote on the higher side to give us a reasonable allowance on our choices. And that makes sense. Who wants to go with the lowest guy only to find out your selections don't come close to the quote and the cheapest quote turns into the most expensive one? And we came in below budget- which we were shocked by. Shawn was great at communication through the entire process. We had a minor incidence and he had it rectified by the end of the day. All his subs were courteous and arrived when expected. Shawn is a genuine, knowledgeable contractor with integrity and we would use him again in a heartbeat.

We had a great experience with Shawn. We had our kitchen expanded and added a master bath and walk-in closet. Due to supply chain issues, our project took about a month longer than originally anticipated, but Shawn knew this at the start of the project and worked with us so we were not stuck without a kitchen any longer than necessary. Costs were very reasonable and even after adding in new drywall and carpet to the basement, we were still under our initial budget. All the subcontractors were professional. Shawn will be our first choice for any other remodeling.

Valerie and I cannot say enough about Shawns knowledge, dedication, integrity, professionalism and patience. Prior to hiring DCS, we researched BBB, similar agencies and consulted past clients. He met with us several times to discuss various options (and our changing design ideas) for removing and building a new deck. He is extraordinarily patient, friendly, creative and accommodating. Shawn was thorough and clear about every aspect of the design and price. The crew was always on time and kept us apprised of the progress. When it turned out we had some rotting wood on the house and seriously cracked stucco, Shawn was on top of it immediately, and it didnt slow the progress. Our deck is even more gorgeous than we had hoped. And the best part was we didnt have to do anything, Shawn and his staff did everything from securing the dumpster to removing the last shred of material and arranging the city inspection. Shawn identified some electrical and stucco issues which we were unaware of. In those few areas beyond his expertise, the people he recommended were professional and reasonably priced. We are so pleased we went with DCS - a family firm that is absolutely honest, informative and highly skilled. We unequivocally recommend DCS to anyone looking for home improvements.

We had never undertaken project like this before. We had Durand Construction redo our kitchen and bathroom. We also had a wall taken out between the kitchen and living room, plus new railings on our stairs and new lighting throughout. We could not be happier with how it all turned out and how the project progressed. From our very first meeting with Shawn, we were impressed. He ALWAYS showed up when he said he would and on time. All of the subcontractors were the same. Everybody cared about the quality of their work and made sure it was what we wanted every step of the way. Shawn also made multiple design suggestions that we really liked. Even with a few tweaks along the way, we were kept on budget and the project was completed in the timeline promised. We hired Shawn to be the general contractor for a modest kitchen renovation in an older home. Shawn worked with us to keep it within our budget, discussed the design several times, and was adaptable as unexpected issues popped up. Our design was centered around a retro stove and it required some creativity to realize the design we wanted for our kitchen. His subcontractors were very good, reliable, and diligent. In particular we appreciated his electrician and the tile guy. We've found the difference between an excellent contractor and a so-so contractor is when there's a problem that needs to be fixed. So-so contractors have typically fought doing the work or do it haphazardly. Shawn didn't. There was a minor mix-up that he addressed promptly with us, worked out a solution, and we moved on. We look forward to using him again in the future.
