Allen came out to our home and hung mirrors which are posted on his page. That job was done right. Then the next job was to hook up home theater in our basement, hand a TV and sound bar in the living room. He text at the time he was supposed to arrive saying he was having trouble getting supplies. Mind you I paid for half upfront so he could get supplies prior to coming. He had one story after another then when I called him.he got snippy in the phone. He finally arrived at almost 4pm was supp6to be there at 11am. He worked until late but was unable to finish everything because of a late start. He came back today to finish up and decided to hang the TV without verified where to hang it. Hung it on the wrong wall left 3 additional holes in the wall. Didn't do the electrical work, wasn't going to tell me until I asked. Then came up to hand g the new sound bar. I assisted with getting the TV on and off the wall to do the sound bar it's to big for 1 person to handle. He hooked up the sound bar told me what port he put it in and to change the setting in my TV for it. Seems simple enough. Bit once he left the house I rest him because my TV doesn't have that option and I couldn't get the sound bar to work. He was extremely rude told me I don't care his back hurts, told me I shouldn't buy expensive things if I can't work them and then threatened to break my arms. Don't use him he is very unprofessional. We aid him for services and he didn't complete the job.

I cant say enough about the wonderful work performed by Done Right Handyman! This was an unusual situation where I needed to find someone to help out my sister with two issues. She lives in an old farmhouse and needed to have a storm door installed as well as some work in the bathroom. Neither job was trivial in nature. Allen worked with me over the phone (I live in Virginia) to schedule the work. He did the work and kept me updated throughout the process. The best part is that my sister was thrilled with the work! Scheduling (and subsequent payment) was easy through the website, and Allen was very responsive over the phone. I was so happy to find someone local. I will definitely be using Done Right Handyman the next time my sister needs work on the house.

Did a nice job installing the exterior door. Looks great! The price we discussed over the phone did not exactly align with what he charged upon completion. He also was supposed to get back to me with another quote and never did. He was a little late after rescheduling but all in all I am very happy with the work he did on the install.

I wrote a review already, which was deleted or hasnt posted to their site yet but i didnt have a great experience, in fact, i got flack from the installer in a response laced with twists of the truth to make me look as if i suggested the proper action too late... What he "recalls" isn't so but, skewed as his memory is, its still fake news: "I'm sorry Ben. As I recall you said "wouldn't pilot holes make it easier?" As I'm at the top of a ladder barely able to do this at all. I said "not really I'm just gonna go ahead and get it done as lag bolts are used in this way everyday on satellite installations". You said "OK". So that's the way you agreed with me do it! In truth it was a dangerous situation and I should have refused to do it at all. But I try to help everyone that asks. I really don't understand this. I said "we need to rent a ladder" but you didn't seem real interested in that idea. If you rent the ladder and get it to your house to have it somehow done differently than it is already done. (Which by the way you said "looks good and will work fine".) I'll be happy to come out and do it anyway you like. I'm not in the business of doing bad work! All the 5 star reviews on any other platform proves that! So please let me know how you would like to proceed. If you get the proper ladder I'll reinstall it for you for $20! Just for the gas money my friend." So, here's my response... You're right, im happy with it, its up, i can adjust and tighten things later in time. I suggested pilot holes as we stood talking on the ground before we got my ladder out of the garage for you to use. i pointed to the drill bit before i pointed out the fastener bit to secure the cable line & the socket for the lag bolts. It was your choice to risk cracking that fascia board, i suggested otherwise but im not in the habit of ordering anyone to do anything they don't feel they wish to do. You wanna risk it, go for it, but i expect it replaced if you do it your way & it fails. i picked out that bit because it was an appropriate size for the lag bolts. You made the work harder, more dangerous, and a cruddy end result. Jobs done, but its not a job anyone should be proud of. Myself, as the customer should have been told, after ordering what i ordered and you trying to satisfy that order, "Yup, I'll have to go get this ladder/lift thing or whatever to get that done for you.". Simple as that. I suggested THAT after seeing the awkward position you were in juggling things up there in fear you were going to drop something on my head as i held the ladder below you... i have a brittle bone disease, thats why i sought out a professional to install what i wanted, how i wanted. I didnt want to risk my personal safety being anywhere near you up there... the wooden spacer was a perfect template for the bolts to mark 4 spots with a pencil, drill 4 holes, & easily sink in those bolts without harsh resistance. The drill was spinning out of your hands, thats usually a good indication that you're sinking into some hardwood, which was elm... no, i dont want it moved or installed any differently, i don't want it looking like swiss cheese up there it'll work. Im glad its up, i just feel if i wanted that kind of experience, i wouldve paid a friend & we wouldve done something similiar. We wouldn't have bent a lag bolt though, because we would've drilled pilot holes... You're a pretty brave guy though, you just gotta remember to work smarter, not harder. It's way safer, it insures quality workmanship, its more efficient, & people respond to that. Thats how ya get more work.
