I hired them to design and build an addition on my house for my elderly Dad to live in. They did an exceptional job. It is a beautiful room and looks like its an original part of my home. My team leader was Landon and he was awesome. Communicated with me daily and let me know what was going on daily. Would definitely recommend them and will hopefully hire them again on the future.

I started this journey as a dream with Distinctive Design Remodeling in May of 2025. They broke ground for the project August of 2025. The house was owned by my grandmother before her passing. I bought the house November 2001. I always wanted a larger master bedroom with a bathroom on-suite. And now my dream has come true thanks to Distinctive Design Remodeling. Jon was the overseer and Trudy was the project manager. Trudy was here everyday or by phone to make sure everything was going as planned. I picked out what I wanted and everything fell into place week by week. We had foundation diggers and brick layers. Then on to the walls going up. Trevor was the drywall person who did a wonderful job. The electricians and plumbers were also wonderful. Michael was the last to arrive and he put the vanity and the towel rods in. Michael also designed the railing for patio and put the swing up. He did an amazing job. My dream was completed October 31, 2025 with everything I wanted. I am having a wonderful time enjoying the completed project.

When my wife and I were looking to get a garage built, we researched quite a few companies. And we had no luck, or the company had no time. DDR was very willing to listen to what we were looking for. Right from the beginning, we met with Kevin Kelly who took down all the information on what we were looking for, and the budget we have. Once Kevin took down all the measurements, and took pictures of where the garage will be built. Within two weeks, Kevin brought plans for the garage. Both my wife and I were very pleased with what we saw. A few days after that, we both agreed to the garage that will be built. A week later we received a email from our project manager, Nate Warner. Nate is a very knowledgeable person when it comes to the building part of it. His crew is spot on, top notch. The concrete expert, Kevin Setters are up front if there are any issues. The build started on 12 November 2025, and its been non stop. One thing thats been so good is Nate is always reachable, and he will get back to you, not ignore you. And in this business, that is JOB #1. DDR is a company that is not build it fast, and thank you. And to us, its the most important thing.

DDR was a great choice for my basement construction project. From the time I met with Kevin in June for an initial consultation to the completion of DDR's work on the basement in early September, everything went smoothly and on time. Kyle, my project manager, was especially great in communicating all the details and timelines for carpenters, plumbers, electricians, and inspectors. He was also very helpful in terms of preparing me for what I needed to have ready for the contractors and offering suggestions for outside experts who laid the floors, painted the walls, hung the cabinets, and installed the granite. When we hit a snag, Kyle always made it right, giving me the information I needed to make decisions and over and above help if something went wrong. I highly recommend DDR!

DDR is a great company. From the first visit with sales representative Kevin Kelly to working with Onsite Project Manager Justin Gash. All work crews were professional, courteous, and attentive to the constant need to respect our home during construction as the sunroom addition required an 8' x 8' opening into our kitchen. All work was well done! I would recommend DDR for any construction project.

We had DDR come out and help with the design of our room addition. They gave us a projected start date and a projected completion date and the delivered on both of them. They had very professional work crews that did great work. Our project manager was Nate he sent out weekly schedules for expected work to be done and made sure that the entire project went as expected. I cant say enough good things about Nate he was great to work with. I would recommend DDR to anyone looking to have an addition added to their home.

My project manager, Kyle, made the whole process seamless. He made sure I always knew what was happening, and when. Horrible experience. Chris was about as useless of a project lead as you can get. I had to babysit and double check everyday. It took several trips back to fix all the problems they left. Their plumber Joe, managed to not vent the plumbing on the bathroom. The dry wall guys took several trips to get the mud job close, but I still had to re-mud and finish it myself. They took out a window from the existing house when they built the walls, and forgot to fill in the hole in the bedroom. We had to have them come back out and patch the window hole. They're quick to take your money but slow to finish the job. You'd be better off hiring your own team and pulling permits. Their "in house team" is no different than anyone you could hire on your own. Prices are fair enough to get the sale, but not so cheap to be alarming until you see the work quality. You get less than you pay for somehow. The electricians were outsourced so at least they were professional and did a great job. The salesman was fine when he quoted it, other than kindly taking advantage of the fact I didn't know the roof pitch was too flat when I signed, but other than that he was okay. Dimitri the owner was slow to communicate at times, but communicated way better than Chris. It was like pulling teeth to get them to correct any of their mistakes. I'm lucky that I have a father that's worked construction and could spot some of the mistakes, but if you go in blind, you're going to get shoddy work at best. Chris would ghost you until the owner MADE him call you, or it was time to collect a check. Just avoid this company and get other quotes. They were the best price, but the most headache. Rumor has it that they give customers hefty Amazon gift cards for those 5 star reviews. I've heard that from multiple sources. Proceed with caution. They definitely knew there was no price point that could get a good review from us.

I chose DDR for my covered patio project because they did several similar projects in my neighborhood and their work looked like it had always been part of the house and very well- built. The salesman was very knowledgeable and heard us out, and made a plan to give us more than we imagined based on our price point, addressing all our wants and then some. They provided CAD blueprints, pulled all permits and scheduled all inspections. All work was finished from framing crew to final inspection in less than two weeks. The project manager gave daily updates and personally oversaw the work. We definitely feel like we got our money's worth with DDR and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to add outdoor living spaces.

We utilized DDR to build our accessory dwelling unit (ADU). The carriage house is positioned between the main residence and the alleyway with the separation balancing the need for privacy with the convenience of having a multigenerational home. DDR was able to make our vision into a reality by tailoring the build to match our requirements and services to fit our budget. The service our Project Manager, Chris, provided was above our expectations with communication and coordination simplifying the process. The final product is a new structure which architecturally blends in to the aesthetics of the neighborhood. Grandma loves the above garage apartment and extra time with the grandkids, our kids enjoy spending time there after school, and we appreciate the extra help with errands and childcare. DDR was able to customize the build to support the specific needs of an aging adult. They made recommendations and modifications to the stairs reducing the rise of steps and second hand rail. That also changed the entryway to be raised to reduce a possible tripping hazard over the threshold. That level of planning to meet the needs of our family and attention to detail was amazing. I highly recommend using DDR if you are considering building an ADU.

Distinctive Design Remodeling (DDR) Theres an old saying in the contracting business that goes something like, Every client wants a high quality job done at a bargain price and they want it completed in record time. And, they can have any two of those, but they can never have all 3. Well that may be true about most contractors, but based on our experience, DDR knocked that old saying right out of the ball park! And while it did take a few weeks for the design and permitting phases to get done, once the project began it was all hands on deck. Our project manager, Kyle, was there most days making sure everything was done right, and if something wasnt to his liking, he had it corrected. On one occasion I looked out and noticed Kyle was closely examining the landing, steps and railing the crew had installed. He was looking at it from various angles, making a notes in his phone. The next day he was back marking parts with orange spray paint. He told us hed marked a few things he wanted redone. By the time the trim carpenters had redone those few things, we had a noticeably improved landing, steps and railing. And while that was the most noticeable thing, there were several other situations where he had things redone that he felt could be improved. So a high quality of workmanship was apparent from the beginning. Im sure all DDR project managers are outstanding, but if theyll let you request a project manager, we highly recommend Kyle Quillin. At our initial appointment with Kevin in mid to late March I asked how long it would take to complete our new sun room. Kevin quoted 6 weeks depending on weather but no more than 8 weeks. That sounded great to us as wed seen other contractors yard signs around our neighborhood doing projects similar to ours that would be there for 6 to 8 months. So we signed on that day. Our sunroom was started in mid August. Two days shy of 4 weeks later, DDR had completed their portion of the project. Hows that for record time? So, weve gotten a high quality job done in record time. Hence, we shouldnt expect to have gotten it done at a bargain price, right? Well heres the thing, the price was quoted up front the day we signed the contract. We knew it was a bargain BEFORE we signed. What I havent yet mentioned is I was in the contracting business for 14 years after retiring from my first career. And I knew it was a bargain price before we signed on the dotted line. The process to build a screen porch was so easy. Met with the designer first. He listened to what we wanted and designed it perfectly. The different crews that worked on the project were great. We new when they were coming to the house and was told beforehand what to expect from each crew. Each crew cleaned up every day. The porch looks great and makes the house look better. DDR added a Sunroom as an addition to our home. From start to finish the experience was better than expected. These days it is hard to find people that really care about doing the job correctly, but we did not have that issue with DDR. Pat met with us first to "sell" us on DDR he was great. Justin was our project manager and he was a pleasure to work with and we had a great relationship with him throughout the project. Any issues we may have had were addressed promptly. I appreciated the patience Justin showed, I had tons of questions and concerns and he addressed each one without even a hint of being frustrated with me. He showed up to check on things almost daily. It will be strange not chatting with him daily. I didn't always understand the order in which they did certain jobs, but the job was done! The project started on time and ended as expected. I love the room and cant wait to begin using it. Let me also say, understand that undertaking any project , such as an addition, there will be issues. There will never be a time when something doesn't go smoothly. I would highly recommend DDR and the team to do any project you might have.
