Our plumbing company was hired by Justin Churchill with Brighton Strokes in February 2025 to complete a job for his client. The job was completed in February 2025 , his bill was $12,000. He wrote us a bad check for insufficient funds. For months we got. O money from him. Once I posted a bad review he gave us $2000, then a week later $1500. This week nothing. He seems to think he is on a Layaway plan. We are having to asking for money constantly and he acts mad that we keep asking and arent understanding that he doesnt have the money. I guess if you just want some painting done then this place would be ok, but not as a contractor. This isnt how you run a business Beware Update We hired an attorney, he paid a few payments and once again stopped paying. We have now out thousand of dollars in attorney fees. We have put a lien against his home. There are several other contractors/customers who also suing him. We seized his bank accounts which it he closed his accounts out. Funny thing he threatened me for slander but our attorney states it isnt slander if true and we have every bit of documentation backing it. If you need anything information more details please reach out. Like I said with attorney fees he now owes us about $16,,000. I had someone who owns another plumbing company reach out to us today and he owes them money to. Our attorney states there are other people with suits trying to get even more money than us. He should be in jail and business should be closed. Beware if you are a contractor thinking of using him.

Our experience with Justin and Brightstrokes was exceptional. When seeking quotes for our project we encountered multiple businesses who simply never bothered to return our calls. Justin contacted us immediately and actually came to our home the same day to understand the scope and he had a quote to us within a day. Brightstrokes was able to schedule our wallpaper install very quickly and on the exact date we hoped to start. On install day Justin was onsite to make sure his staff had everything needed to ensure a successful install. Mark, the installer, was courteous, professional and very talented. We could not be happier with the outcome and the overall experience. We highly recommend Brightstrokes for any paper hanging project.

Justin and his team were great to work with, and Justins communicativeness stood out from other contractors from the beginning. Justins team removed wallpaper from several areas, did drywall work, applied wallpaper to one area and painted the rest. The wallpaper I chose was not easy, it had lots of small little lines but Marc on Justins team was incredible and laid it expertly- the pattern matched perfectly and you cant see any seams. We are very happy with the finished product. All work was efficiently done, any minor issues were immediately addressed, and I felt prioritized as a customer. I recommend this company!

Brightside did a great job. They did whole house painting, and carpeting in multiple areas. There were a couple of issues that required follow up which they did promptly and to our satisfaction. I find that to be very important, that a company will come back quickly and fix anything that may have been missed. The cleanup team did a great job, leaving the home even better than before any work was done. I highly recommend for fair prices and quality work that they stand behind.

Justin and his crew recently did a spruce in our tired 1960s St. Matt's cape. They fixed numerous dry wall problems (beautiful dry wall repairs btw), repaired and replaced some trim in the kitchen, freshened up the paint in a large portion of the house (thank you for color matching for me!), and gave the upstairs bath a mini facelift with new tile, vanity and paint. They also coordinated some proactive plumbing checks, did some minor exterior trim painting and sealed some small cracks in the facing of the foundation. I thought the quoted cost was very reasonable for the amount of work we had done. What stands out to me the most about Justin is his excellent communication skills and his responsiveness to the customer. Anyone who has been through home renovations knows that things don't always go as planned, so a good working relationship is critical. Text messages were responded to right away. Justin consistently checked up on things. Multiple walk throughs were offered to make sure I was satisfied and no detail was left unattended. Josh, Mark, Javier, Jesus, and the drywall guys, etc. were all so friendly and considerate and cleaned up at the end of the day. Thank you! I would not hesitate to hire BrightStrokes again in the future.

I dont post reviews but Brightstrokes is an amazing company! Justin and his crews did extensive work on my home to prepare it for sale. Justin was available always and managed his crews so no time was wasted. He even came back after the job was done when a plumber busted a pipe a week before the house was to go on the market - sending water through 3 floors. He had plaster craftsmen and painters in immediately. I could not recommend this company more strongly! His work ethic is unmatched.

Justin's crew of painters were very professional and thorough. They came in and removed wall paper and border, painted all the walls (including closets), doors, window sills, and woodwork. They even cleaned and sealed cracks in the shower tiles, and hung a new light fixture for me. The did all this in just 3 1/2 days and at a very reasonable price. They cleaned up when the job was complete. I would highly recommend Bright Strokes for all you painting needs.

Run away from Justin, his crew and his company. He conned us and multiple clients, taking our money and never did the work. Had projects for 8 months. Over several hundred thousand dollars. He is not a contractor, maybe a glorified painter if that. We are pursuing major legal action. Justin, I am adding to this based on your response. We don't owe any money to you or your company. That's a false accusation. You were fired across more than 5 jobs and you are aware what is about to happen- It's hundreds of thousands of dollars. This is in the hands of Louisville Metro and will become public record soon. I would advise anyone who is using you to do research first.

From the minute we first reached out to Justin at Bright Strokes he showed a prompt response and caring attitude. He was very receptive to our concerns about old lead paint in the house and minimizing any excess exposure going forward for our children and even brought in an extra consultant. His entire team was friendly and professional and they worked long hours even to meet our timeline of getting back into house with the kids. We cant say enough about the work theyve done and how they handled the entire process! The paint is matched so well and even more impressive is how well they matched stain and polish on the new stair boards we needed to our hundred year old wood floors that were last polished likely twenty five or more years ago. And they have a great hardwood expert to contract as well. Thank you for improving the safety of our home as well as the look and feel!

When he came to give bid, July 20 2023 he was given bid because of budget we had ,and time line , said we would be in September 4 , he was very convincing after money was given to him, first month seemed to be going quickly, then things went South, no one showed up, he never had People as he said, he tried to find people. The only professional that ever did quality work was the plumber. Things were never ordered in order, now being November 13, we are still lacking paint, knobs never put on cabinets, trim work, doors, vanity in bathroom, floor in kitchen needs repaired, because kitchen cabinets were measured wrong by cabinet store, he selected. Off 10 inches, now cabinet had to be patched. Things that were in contract he never finished always came back with, he wasnt doing it. We have to hire other people to finish all this mess, because when I call only get sarcastic remarks, Have a nice day, I could go on but , we are exhausted with all the lies. Budget of course went way over, because we were in deep ,we assume he is not coming back he hasnt been in house since Oct 6, Please if you want to save yourself a lot of suffering, misery Run if you hear BRIGHT STROKES, aka SIR CHURCHILL Yes we have recourse, and we are following up with options.

Had Justin give me an estimate at 9am and they start the job at 10:30am the same day. Promised to be done in 2 days and they actually were done in a day and a half. Great quality work. Shocking to me they even did a walk through with me to make sure I was satisfied before they left. Reasonable price, very professional, quality work, on time, all I could ask for.
