Ray and his team are top notch. They replaced ceiling dry wall on 2 levels due to some water damage. They were amazingly clean (which kept my wife happy) quick and reasonable. I would highly recommend them to anybody who needs high quality drywall work. Would hire them back in a heartbeat.

I met with Ray (maybe he's the owner, idk, but he was my point of contact) and reviewed and discussed the work I wanted done. I specifically asked for a level 4 or level 5 finish, complete skim coat of all walls in the areas I'd specified. He quoted me $2,000 but agreed to $1800 and claimed to have "been doing this for 30yrs.", so I agreed. After claiming to be finished, he only taped and mudded at the joints and screws. When I then discussed how he'd misunderstood my expectations and direction, he said he didn't know what a level 4 or level 5 finish was. He justified and tried patronizing me by saying, "You're getting a smooth paintable surface. The result is the same. It's not blueboard and plaster. Do you know what that is?" I'm a commercial construction superintendent of 7yrs and am very familiar with wallboard types and finishes and was very clear about what I wanted, regardless of what he felt was minimally necessary. I could've taped and mudded joints and screws myself for under $50, but where I lack skill is in skim coating a level 5 finish; hence why I hired Affordable Drywall. This guy is no better than a junior apprentice in my professional opinion. I guess the "affordable" name denotes low skill level and what they say about getting what you pay for is true, although he charged a price I'd expect for the work I'd requested. Total rip off. If you hire this guy, exercise caution and lower your expectations. Being clear and using industry lingo doesn't work with him.
