Troy and his amazing team, at That 1 Painter, did an excellent job painting the entire interior of a 100 year old historic home. They worked while I was out of town and finished quickly with the greatest attention to detail. Troy provided excellent professional advice and kept me updated with the progress. I chose That1 because of all of the 5 star reviews originally - but someone else beat Troy out on price. He offered to lower the price slightly (still higher than the other quote) for a good review on Google. Given all of the stellar reviews, I mistakenly thought I would be safe... Started out great, but then the job lasted over a month instead of 1.5 weeks, they severely scratched up brand new floors that had just been installed, and there was unremovable paint in the main bathroom sink so we had to replace it. Even worse, we have massive cracks between the molding and ceiling, and Troy refuses to honor the warranty (has stopped replying) Im not sure how he doesnt have any poor reviews, but for me this was certainly a case of too good to be true.

We couldnt be happier with our experience working with That 1 Painter. Our home had years of ivy growth, chipping paint, and general wear and Troy (one of the owners) truly transformed it. From start to finish, he was patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly thorough. When we mentioned a house nearby that had the perfect brick color, Troy even went the extra mile and knocked on their door to find out the exact shade. The team worked efficiently, took great care with every detail, and made sure we were completely satisfied before wrapping up. The difference is night and day our house looks brand new again. We met Troy at the RVA Home Show. We discussed a project we had in mind and set an appointment to come to our home to give us an estimate. After going over the scope of the project, we gave him the go ahead. The contract came in our email, and the down payment and final balance were made electronically. All so very easy. We set a start date and time and we were kept informed when the staff would arrive, traffic delays, etc. Once we were gathered together, we toured the house and the work started. All of the furniture, floors, cabinets and wall decorations were covered. (We were having all of the ceilings painted). At the end of the work day, there was absolutely no mess. The job was completed much quicker than I expected. The wall part of the project was completed in half a day. Over all we are very pleased. The staff was polite and professional, we communicated with Troy daily. Any touch ups and concerns were promptly dealt with, with a smile. Overall, a pleasant experience. I do plan on contacting That 1 Painter again after the holidays for another project. I strongly recommend you give them a try.

Troy Clark (owner) is exceptionally knowledgeable in his trade and was actively engaged from initial consultation thru project completion. His painting crew introduced a new level of attention to detail in the quality of their craftsmanship and pride in their work; a very rare quality found with home improvement contractors. Luis and Chris were great. There was previous leak damage that needed to be repaired after it was fixed. There were some issues with the fix but they came back no charge and made it perfect. Can't even see the dmg. Where the picture is had a huge seam and was stained brown. Highly recommended.

Wit and his team were fantastic! I was not able to meet in person at the property to discuss the project but Wit took care of all my questions and concerns promptly via text and phone before and during the project. He checked in with me several times and sent pictures of progress. His attention to detail was amazing. I was thrilled that they were also able to take care of prep work that I thought I'd have to hire someone else to do! The price was right and the job was well done. Don't even bother getting another estimate, just book them!

He did a great job communicating changes and provided excellent customer service Andres and Angel responsible for the work on our cabinets, they were very detailed oriented, respectful, neat, clean and hard-working. Troy, the owner wanted to make sure that we were satisfied by personally attending the final walk-through. Overall, they did an excellent job. We were extremely happy with how the project turned out. Outstanding service from initial free estimate to completion of the work. Wit Waterfield who was my point of contact arrived with the team and they were punctual. Wit also checked in and kept me current as to what was going on. The work was amazing! The team draped carefully and didnt drop any paint at all. All edges were razor sharp and not a brush mark to be seen. The painters could not have been more professional. This was an outstanding experience for me and I could not be more pleased with the quality!

Ben was very detailed and patient in explaining the process for our upstairs remodel. We moved into my mother in laws house after she passed away and she had.been a heavy smoker. They were able to get the smell out and make the walls look brand new. The crew was very respectful and they truly were " the best house guests ever." Ben even came out on sunday and fixed my screen door-which wasn't even part of the job. They went above and beyond. Thanks ben for everything!!

Had a great experience with That 1 Painter. My realtor recommended I reach out to Troy. When I texted, Troy got right back to me to set up an estimate with one of his team. Wit came out to provide an estimate and had one for me to check out before he left. I was able to text him directly once I had decided on my paint colors and he was easy to reach and responsive throughout the entire process. He came out with Andres and Angel on the date of the project to get the work started. Andres and Angel worked hard the entire day and were very respectful. They did a beautiful job with the walls, ceiling and trim work. Everything was neat and cleaned up afterwards. Wit returned as they were wrapping up to do a walkthrough with me. I would definitely recommend this company and look forward to working with them again on future projects.

We had our popcorn ceiling in two rooms replaced with a flat ceiling. The existing ceiling was sagging with the joints between the sheetrock panels opening up. We also wanted some ceiling light upgrades and an apparent leak fixed. Wit Waterfield managed the project . Wit's coordination with us and the other two trades was exemplary. He communicated in person with us at least once a day and by phone or text as needed. He staffed the job with dilihent workers fluent in English and generally checked in with them twice daily. The work was executed in a timely and profession manner and the end result is fantastic! We will definitely be return clients as needs arise and can recommend them without reservation.
