Hired Billy to replace my mothers stand up shower door enclosure. Excellent job - and super dependable and a very nice guy. A pleasure to do business with. Will be recommending and in fact already have another job with him lined up in the spring.

We had a great experience with Putnam Handyman Services! After our mailbox was demolished by a snow plow, I ordered a new mailbox and post from Home Depot with installation service. Putnam Handyman Services was recommended as one of Home Depots top 3 handyman providers, and they absolutely lived up to it. They were very professional, friendly, and took the time to explain everything to us. I had accidentally purchased a post that was too small, but they caught it right away and even offered to run back to Home Depot to get the right equipment. The whole processfrom explaining our options, buying the correct materials, digging out the old mailbox, and installing the new one with quick-set cementtook only about an hour and a half. They also positioned the new mailbox perfectly: far enough back to avoid future snow plow damage but still within easy reach from the car window. Were very happy with the work and price, we will definitely be calling them again for future projects (next up: patching some door cracks). Highly recommend!

Putnam Handyman Services: A Bathroom Remodel Beyond Expectations! I recently had my bathroom remodeled by Putnam Handyman Services, and wow, am I impressed! Seriously, from start to finish, the entire team was top-notch professional, incredibly courteous, and they genuinely went above and beyond what I expected. My new bathroom looks absolutely fantastic. Every little detail was handled with such care and precision you can really tell they take pride in their craftsmanship. But it wasn't just their skill that blew me away; it was their fantastic customer service. They were always right on time, communicated clearly every step of the way, and were so respectful of my home. It's rare to find a team that's not only great at what they do but also truly cares about making their clients happy. If you're thinking about any home improvements, I can't recommend Putnam Handyman Services enough. If you want excellent results delivered with a professional and friendly attitude, these are your people!

6/1/25 UPDATE: After posting the below review, Bill from Putnam Handyman quickly reached out to me and came by on 5/29 to look at the damage & installation. He pointed out that the warped plastic frame is not quality. I completely agree that a cheap plastic frame is not ideal but after he left, I couldnt help but think... How great would it have been if the technician who installed the unit didnt place it on top of the base heater knowing it is crap plastic? Anyway, Bill fixed the warped plastic, so it is now not so much of an eye sore. The aesthetic was annoying however my main concern was the unit becoming more damaged. Bill assured me multiple times that he doesnt believe it will. He also apologized & advised me to contact him directly in the future with any issues. I truly appreciate Bill coming by and doing his best to rectify the situation. He is professional, respectful & customer focused. I recommend making sure you know who Putnam Handyman is sending to your house & call references, even if you are a repeat customer. Here is why..... I had an in-wall air conditioning unit installed by PH in June 2022. Overall, this installation was cut & dry with a few fixes along the way. The experience was fantastic so I called on them again in May 2023 to replace another in-wall AC unit that was leaking. This installation was not as cut & dry but absolutely doable. It became clear quickly that the lead technician was not happy with the job. I explained that I understood it was different than the job in 2022 and the AC & sleeve I purchased met the specs I was given so I was not being unrealistic. It ended up taking about 112 days & I was completely fine with paying more for the extra work but the installation was flawed. I sent an email with pics detailing the flaws; foam sealant used on outside looked terrible, trim around the unit was not set correctly and there was a gap under the unit that needed to be sealed. I also requested they send the team they sent in 2022 to fix the problems. PH called me to discuss the email. I agreed to having the team who installed it come back & we agreed on a fair price for the installation. When they came back to fix their work, the same complaints were lobbied. Again, I explained that I understood, I got the materials according to the specs they provided, etc. Now here we are in 2025 and the poor installation has created damage. The technician installed the AC too close to the electric baseboard heater and since this was a colder winter compared to the year before, the bottom trim has warped quite significantly. I didnt discover the damage until a few weeks ago because I cover front of my ACs when the weather cools. I emailed PH with pics but since their warranty expired, I would need to pay to have it fixed. While I respect the timing of the warranty, I am still disappointed that Putnam Handyman isnt willing to fix a job that was obviously done incorrectly by their technician. So, here I am taking this story to internet to warn others.

I Used this Amazing Company to come and Softwash my house. My house now looks brand new and just gotta say was well taken care of when the guys were here. The Individual who showed up was very knowledgeable and kept me involved every step of the way. I also inquired about getting a quote on a full kitchen and bathroom remodel and was surprised when the quote came back so professionally worded and very well priced. I cant wait to have them perform this job over the winter and am already thinking about having them come bac k in the spring for a deck rebuild and staining. Bill was such a pleasure when estimating my projects and as the wash was going on, very communitive with his employees. Glenn was also so awesome to talk to. he was very quick on the response time and understanding when we had to reschedule. ABSOLUTELY HIRE THESE GUYS!!! THEY ARE AWESOME

Edit: Once again denying they did the work. I have their contact saved, it was them. Notice how this is their excuse on all the negative reviews? This is how they treat a repeat customer. Edit 2: Just got an email from them offering a discount on painting! Guess Im on your customer list after all, huh? These people are liars and you should not trust them with your home. First hired Putnam Handyman Services to repair a deck that was poorly installed by a contractor who disappeared. They did fantastic work! A few years later I enthusiastically hired them to replace some of the rotting wood on the exterior of my house, as well as install a wooden mounting plate for a light I had installed above the garage that was mounted directly to the siding. For a few months the work looked great, but soon after it began to warp and crack. About a year later it looked worse than the wood that had been replaced. I called them up and for about 15 minutes they told me over the phone that they had no record of ever doing the job. They finally agreed to come and of course as soon as they arrived they recognized me and remembered doing it. Odd, but ok. As I took them around the house to show them the failing plywood wood that they had installed, they asked me why I didnt seal it after I painted it... When I explained to them that it was their worker who had painted it, they refused to believe me. They actually accused me of painting the wood myself and then forgetting. When they finally admitted that they had done the work, they told me that I was supposed to have put a sealer over the paint after they had left. I, the customer, was supposed to seal the paint job that they had just done. This includes on a mounting block 10 feet off the ground over my driveway. They took the light down, built the block, mounted it, painted it, rewired and mounted the light, and I, the customer, was meant to climb up and seal it. Did they tell me this or leave some sealer for me? Of course they didnt. They refused to take responsibility for the obviously terrible work, and then tried to gaslight me into thinking it was my fault. Really unfortunate because for a little while there they actually seemed like an honest business. Dishonest and unaccountable. Avoid.

Putnam Handyman services completed a few projects for me including power washing, fixing the framing on a door frame, installing new weather shield on my front door, raising a counter, and intalling a new washer and dryer. Everything from scheduling to service, billing, and the work was done in a timely, friendly, and organized manner. All work was completed to my satisfaction on time and within budget. Thank you Putnam Handyman Services!

DO NOT USE!! Arrival time was 10am-2pm. No call, no show. I called twice and texted once. Someone called me back at 3:30pm and said "we're not going to make it today". "Bill has an emergency and has no cell service." Well Bill is with another worker who probably has a phone and I'm sure wherever their fake emergency is there would be a phone. If Bill was able to text the guy who called me then Bill The Incompetent Employee could have texted me!! I burned a vacation day for this?

We had problems with unresponsiveness and rescheduling but the company was quick to address our concerns when we made them known. Edit: They promptly and professionally completed our project.

I hired Putnam Handyman Services to change my 3 old wood decks over to composite decking with new rebuilt staircases. They were professional, clean work site, showed up when they said they would, easy to work with and were very accommodating to any changes or ideas I wanted. I would 100% recommend them to friends and family.

I have hired these guys on three separate occasions. Different personnel arrived on different occasions. Some were excellent, some were not. The jobs I hired them for were very simple. I.e. Putting together bedroom/living room furniture that I ordered on-line. Over the course of three occasions, I have since noticed a trend of things, supposedly miraculously, being dented or chipped. When I called to asking about their insurance policy (since they promote it so much), they said I would have to prove their guys caused the damage. ...which, of course, their guys denied. On another occasion, their guys were totally confused as to how to put together two dressers, one tall and one wide. They mixed the pieces of the two dressers together to make a short, thin dresser and then asked me "is this what you ordered?" I had to figure out the problem and explain to them how the pieces were mixed together between two different boxes and how the pieces should be put together. Apparently they could not figure that out for themselves. I would not even mind all of this as it is all rather minor, except for the fact that the rate they charge is $100 per hour, per person. And yes, I did have to pay for the wasted time of two guys not understanding how to put together two dressers, and my having to figure it out and explain it to them. I therefore do not think this company is worth the large price they charge for quite a simple service. Two of the guys that had helped were quite skilled and efficient, but two others were far less impressive. However, the reason why I am writing this long review is because when I called to ask how they may compensate me for all of this, the person I spoke to said it comes down to my "proving" they cause the damage for the chips/dents. He even went so far as to say that 50% of the time furniture is expected to come damaged, while also giving me quite an attitude about it. I receive delivered items all the time, and nowhere near 50% are damaged out of the box. So given the miraculous damage rate, the incompetence/wasted time on one simple project, and the attitude I received when inquiring about the compensation policy and the fact that I have to prove they did the damage (which I assume means I would have to essentially video-record their workers), I do not feel their service is worth the rate they charge of $100 per hour, per worker. I have spent nearly $2K for their services, which, again, is comprised of very simple work. They seem to have some personnel who are capable of handling far more complex projects (though also some that are not). I would advise this company to charge different rates given the complexity/skill needed for the work, since an elaborate project (i.e. brick-laying/wall construction/carpet installation) should not cost the same per hour as a simple project (i.e. putting together bedroom furniture that comes with all the tools and instructions).
