I cant praise Otis and his team enough!!! From before I committed to the job, until the end of the job...Otis and his team have been 100%++ PROFESSIONAL, RESPECTFUL, KIND, KNOWLEDGEABLE, TALENTED... and probably a longer list of wonderful adjectives I cant think of now. Their positive energy is missed after the job that lasted 2 weeks (exactly as promised). I am MORE than satisfied with the results! My home looks beautiful. During the 2 week process Otis took the time to talk me through all decisions and provided great guidance in helping me come to the best choice. His expertise with color and paint qualities is worth every penny! I believe he is one of the top (Id say #1) painters in San Diego.

I hired Otis to paint the interior of my Father in Laws house (that we are getting ready to rent) after I fired the painters that painted the exterior. The exterior painters didnt prep at all, and I had to have them redo numerous places. The house is 70 years old and hadnt been touched for 40 years. Otis came out the next day and gave us a quote. The quote was very reasonable. There were numerous cracks in the wall from the shifting foundation (that was fixed). Otis was the only painter that said that they would use mesh tape to fix the cracks instead of just painting over them. Otis is very hands on and makes sure that things are done the right way. The crew of 4 was amazing. They were on time and were very nice and respectful. They did an amazing job. When the flooring contractor came in, his comment was This paint job looks amazing.

Otis provided excellent customer service from the initial walkthrough and bid all the way through until the end of my project. He did a very good job communicating and he and his team were extremely thorough and delivered high quality work. He paid attention to detail and the prep work the crew did before painting made a world of difference in the finished product. They also took the time to perform the minor carpentry and foundation masonry work needed to really revive my home. It was well worth the money. If you want the exterior of your house restored/painted and you want it done right, I highly recommend Otis Merry Painting.

Otis Merry and his crew painted the exterior of our 1937 house which has a great deal of architectural detail. Otis and his crew were professional, meticulous and timely from start to finish. Otis discussed the various pros and cons of the paint options to consider and is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to color. He pointed out parts of our house that needed attention that we were not aware of. They patched and painted parts we didn't even realize needed patching and painting and are extremely detail oriented. All in all, Otis and his crew were very easy to work with, they did a wonderful job, are polite, accommodating and very tidy. Our house has never looked better. I wouldn't hesitate to use Otis Merry Painting for any future work.

We recently worked with Otis and his amazing crew to paint the full exterior and full interior of a home that has been in the family for over 65 years. It was a true labor of love for us and Otis completely understood that. Otis took time to discuss paint options, explained color values and brand variances. He was patient with my questions and offered excellent professional advise. Otis responded to texts timely, sent pictures when needed and just gave such wonderful customer service. Working with Otis was such a great experience. Otis and his team worked on our project over two weeks and spent a significant amount of time on the prep work. The team was professional and friendly. They arrived on time and were extremely organized. Everything looks great and we are very happy with the work they did and the finished product. We will always recommend Otis! Many neighbors in our neighborhood of Burlingame in North Park either know of Otis already (that's how good he truly is) or give a nod as they walk by our home and compliment us on the transformation of our post-war bungalow.

Contacted Otis to do some exterior painting, stucco and window frame repair. He came by the same day to look the job over and we agreed to proceed. The crew on the job were great - on time, courteous and always cleaned up. Otis would check in frequently to make sure the job was on track. When a little rework was needed recently Otis was on it the next day. No hemming and hawing. Lead painter Gudiel did a great job taking care of the repair. First class with a big thumbs up!

Otis and his team are outstanding! They delivered exceptional quality work exactly as described. Joe completed the work over here on what was definitely a specialty job. I saw first hand the amount of care that he puts into his craft. I have painted many times in my life and I understand what it takes to do good work.. however, the materials, the patience, the tools, and the experience that showed up and the product that was produced.. absolutely stunning. I am so fortunate that I contacted Otis Merry Painting. My partner and I recently purchased a new home and Otis Merry Painting were one of 4 contractors that we interviewed to re-paint the interior of our home. Otis personally met me at our home the day I contacted him. Otis arrived on time and was very articulate on the job and by far, he was the most detailed orientated. After receiving multiple estimates, we decided to contract with Otis Merry Painting. Otis and his crew (artisans) showed up to the site every day, were very professional (and personable), and I immediately could tell how all of Otis staff were proud of the work they do. Superb attention to detail and communication. Appreciated the advice about paint quality and color selection--so much more knowledgeable than I could be. We wanted a 'superb' outcome, and we got it! Otis Merry did our whole house 20 years ago after we moved in, then back again now after renters trashed it--looks perfect! Undoing damage was more than just painting over it.

Otis Merry and his painters did an excellent job painting my house in 2022, and previously in 2013. Otis Merry is the type of contractor I am always hoping to find: long-term skilled employees, competent, hardworking, reasonably priced, responsible, reliable, respectful, and accommodating. High quality paint and related products are used. During this time of the great resignation and inflation, finding contractors with experienced and skilled employees is particularly challenging. Based on my prior experience with Otis, I knew that his business model was based on long-term employees and doing quality work that would ensure repeat customers. Otis Merry specializes in older homes like Craftsman and bungalows, etc, with lead paint, but paints all types of residences. His experience gave me confidence as my house is 94 years old. Since the use of lead paint was not banned until 1978, a high percentage of existing homes have lead paint. Many painters I have interviewed are not qualified and do not want to follow lead-safe practices as required by law. They seem to hope you wont know about the regulations or know enough to ask them to follow the regulations. When I receive bids from this type of contractor they either submit outrageously high bids or submit low bids inadequate to do the job. Each time I obtained bids for the painting of my house, Otis Merrys bids were in the middle range price wise. This is what you want as a homeowner to ensure your project can be done properly. at a fair price If you are a reasonable and fair person, you want a fair price for yourself and for the contractor doing the work. If you gouge a contractor, he will cut corners to make up for the low price. Otis Merry was on the job every day. The foreman and painters who painted my house were unfailingly hard working, skilled, courteous, considerate and accommodating. They seemed happy in their work. The foreman was very focused and committed to ensuring that I was happy with their work. The job site was cleaned up and organized at the end of each work day. The painters did not leave the job to work on another project. They remained until the project was done. Parking is very inadequate where I live with parking on one side of the street only. Because of the foremans approach, the dentists office next door happily worked with the painter to find the best solutions for the parking challenges. If you are anything like me in terms of the type of contractor you want, you will agree that Otis Merry Painting sounds like the type of contractor you are looking for. For your information, I am a retired architect.
