So hard to find dependable people these days who do good work. Matthew did a great job for us. We had ice dams this winter and it caused damage to our kitchen ceiling. He showed up on time every day on the date we agreed over a month prior. He repaired all damage, and primed it and painted the whole ceiling. It looks perfect. You cannot see any of the damage whatsoever, and it is especially important have it right in Kitchen where we spend so much time. He even installed new light fixtures for us. He cleaned up the job area each day and at conclusion of job, keeping everything tidy during the job. His workmanship and attention to detail are excellent. Wont hesitate to use him again for any drywall work or repairs. Highly recommend him to others looking for a good experience with a professional drywaller.

We hired Matt to a repair large section of drywall in our kitchen ceiling. It turned out to be more complicated and challenging because neither we nor he realized that the current ceiling was installed over old tiles, lath and plaster. But Matt did a spectacular job of removing old materials, building a new foundation, installing and painting the new drywall section. Looks great. We can't tell there was ever a problem. We'd hire him again in a heartbeat.

We had an ice dam problem earlier in the winter that caused leakage into our kitchen with damage to the ceiling and part of a wall. This is not the first time it has happened, and previous repairs have consisted of basically patching the affected area. Matthew assessed the situation, and advised removing previous patches and installing green board on the ceiling (moisture and mold resistant)--he would then coat the area and paint the entire kitchen ceiling, along with the mud room and family room (all one continuous ceiling.) This was exactly the right thing to do. Matthew gave a detailed estimate, showed up on time, did a beautiful, professional repair, was very tidy, used a vacuum to minimize dust and disruption, and cleaned the area after working. The ceiling was a mess and now looks fantastic. Would highly recommend Matthew's work. If I knew how to add photos I would--to look at it now, you would never know there was a problem.

Matthew did an incredible job on a drywall project at my home. The drywall in the living room became damaged due to ice damming after a really bad winter. He not only replaced the damaged drywall, he added brand-new quality insulation inside the wall, repaired the wall and patched it with great attention to detail and care and had it looking brand new as if nothing had happened. I hired Matthew to repair my kitchen ceiling after a major leak. The plumber had to cute a large hole to access the pipe. Matthew responded quickly to my inquiry. What made the job difficult was the fact that my ceiling had textured wallpaper installed by the previous owner. Luckily I had some of the paper and Matthew was able to match the wallpaper and paint the ceiling as well as install a new light fixture. He was meticulous. Matthew was a pleasure to work with. He responded promptly to messaging , thoughtful and thorough in his estimation of the entirety of the job, and the job was completed exactly as described. The issue was cracked plaster in the LR that was growing over time, and a separate but nearby area of moisture and peeling paint over plaster. We felt the risk of taking down cracked plaster and repairing the ceilings was more than we could tackle. Matthew explained the process and we are very satisfied with the finished outcome. Trials and tribulations of home ownership II: Having reduced my honey- do list by having storm water damage to our ceilings & walls repaired & painted, I decided to upgrade our bathroom exhaust fan. DIY. I had to reach the fan thru a closet cubby and transverse rafters to the exact spot. I was impressed how quickly I swapped out the fans and improved the insulation around the hose exiting the roof. I had 30 year old ceiling water damage running the length of my kitchen, some areas needed drywall replacement and others needed attention and more easily repaired. Matt was able analyze where the problems were and what needed to be done and not any more than what needed to be done. Matt is pleasant and knows his craft very well and has been doing it more than 20 years. Communication was excellent, texted arrival and any delays. Attention to cleanliness and dust control was great. Matt replaced the ceiling drywall. Multiple coats of joint compound and feathered it out nice. Made it look easy and I know it isn't. Sanded the next day and painted and looks great now. Cleaned up (vacuumed) meticulously leaving no trace. Covered the floors too. Glad I didn't do this myself!

Mulcahy Ceilings & Drywall did a great job with the restoration of the plasterboard ceiling in my kitchen. Due to an upstairs bathroom plumbing leak, part of the circa 1948 kitchen ceiling had opened up under the weight of collected water. After plumbing repairs were made and installing new spot lighting, the ceiling had to be closed back up and blended with the remaining original plasterboard. Matthew made it happen and it looks beautiful. I will definitely use Mulcahy Ceilings & Drywall again in the future!
