I had a really amazing outcome with Hush Soundproofing. I moved into a condo right next to the BQE and could not sleep because of the noise. Hush soundproofed the master bedroom and the difference is unbelievable. The traffic is almost imperceptible, where before I could hear the difference between every engine. For me it was a necessary investment and Im so pleased at the result!

I had a wall and front door soundproofing project done with Hush and was extremely impressed with both the results and Ned and his team throughout the process. The soundproofing on both the wall and door was more effective than I expected, not only blocking noise from next door but also absorbing other ambient sounds, making my space much quieter and less distracting. Ned and his team were highly knowledgeable and professional, paying close attention to every detail to ensure the job was done well, on time, and with minimal disruption. Ned was also very responsive and available whenever I had questions or concerns, which made the entire process smooth and stress-free. PEACE. AT. LAST. TL;DR: I hired Hush Soundproofing to insulate the hollow party wall (interior) between my apartment and the neighbor. The results are excellent. I highly recommend Ned and his team at Hush Soundproofing. For a very detailed review, please continue reading! For more than 20 years, I treated my apartment like a starter apartment. Coming to accept that its not temporary, I decided it was time to make improvements and the #1 priority was serenity. For these 2+ decades, I have referred to my next-door neighbor as my invisible roommate. I could hear everything: full conversations, TV, coughing, sneezing, you name it. One example: my neighbor would walk in, turn on the TV and then get on the phone. Since he couldnt hear the other person so well over the TV, hed turn the phone volume all the way up. I could hear him, the TV and the person on the phone. During the day, I would have to turn on jazz in order to concentrate on work. In the evenings, I had to use white noise in order to hear my own TV over the din from next door. It became unbearable. Because I lived with this for so many years, I had done my research. I KNEW the only way to resolve the noise between apartments is decoupling the walls. When I came across Hush Soundproofing and watched Neds video, I was confident they were the right team. Doing my due diligence, I spoke with another soundproofing company. They were more expensive. And they told me that my job was too small for them (rude.). Small to them. Huge to me. I think this is really key about Ned, he cares about his clients. He wants to bring them peace. He knows how maddening and disruptive noise can be, and he wants his clients to be happy in their homes (or offices, studios). From the time that I first contacted him through the job, everything progressed forward, consistently and in an organized fashion. I very much appreciated Hush Soundproofings contract and process. I felt that both parties were protected. Hush Soundproofing is licensed and insured and there was no issue getting the COI from Ned (crucial for co-ops). Ned did sound testing / measurement before and after. He was very honest that the soundproofing would not be 100% and he wanted to manage my expectations. But I would estimate that it is 90% improved. Please take note... sound-engineered drywall attached to your existing wall with green glue does not work. I know this from personal experience. The team respected the buildings work hours and was on-site and ready to start as soon as permitted. They did not stay past time and cleaned each day before they left. The work was done in the exact amount of time estimated and within the budget. The work was excellent. AND as they were skim coating the wall, they saw that the space around my radiator had gaping holes. Out of nowhere, they just patched it. They didnt have to do this. They just saw something broken and fixed it. Ned kept in communication with me throughout the process. He truly cared about the outcome for me and called a few weeks later to see how life was in my space. As I noted above, its 90% improved. We werent able to do the full treatment in the hallway due to space restrictions. We also could not treat the space under the floors. Ned had identified all the areas that noise was traveling through, into my apartment. So those spaces where we didnt apply the full treatment is where some noise finds its way in, but again, this is a minimal amount of noise. Right now, I have angels as my upstairs neighbors, but when they decide to move, I will be calling Ned and Hush Soundproofing to soundproof the bedroom ceiling. I am so happy that I invested in soundproofing, it has genuinely improved my life, and that I chose Hush Soundproofing to do the job. I recommend Ned and Hush Soundproofing without hesitation.

Working with HUSH was an incredible experience. Ned worked with me to design and execute a custom sound booth under an existing loft which now is being used for voiceover recording. We then worked with Ned again to do custom designed ceiling baffles to move sound through a large open loft space in an old building. If youre looking to create something that both achieves your sound goals and is thoughtfully considered from beginning to end, I highly recommend Hush. Ned is one of a kind. Both Ned and his team consistency approached difficult challenges with an old building with a willingness to work with the issues and come up with creative solutions that exceeded expectations.

We worked with Ned to identify solutions to reduce some of the noises that are coming through our wall from the elevator shaft back in 2022. Ned was very communicative and very respectful. He answered all of our questions and did the best he can to find a solution for us. The work was also done quickly and beautifully. Its 2024 and were still in communication with Ned, as were trying to navigate issues with our building management. Ned has been a tremulous resource and support for us.

I wish I had know about Hush before hiring two acousticians. Ned is very knowledgeable about sound transmission and ways to control it. He provided some practical solutions to a challenging situation and then implemented them in a very professional manner with a nice respectful crew. Such a professional team. I had them come out to soundproof the doors in my condo unit and wow has it made such a difference. Previously I could hear my neighbor cough if they were near their door. Ned and his team took care of sealing the doors and added automatic gaskets that seal the base of the doors when closed. So thankful for these guys. I work in real estate and I cant tell you how many people are living with noisy apartments needlessly. Worth every penny.

We hired Hush Soundproofing in the summer of 2023. We have a brownstone in park slope. The neighboring property is split into several smaller apartments. We can hear when people are speaking at slightly elevated levels, as well as music and television sound. We had Ned and his team treat our two primary bedrooms. In the 3 months since the work was completed we have not heard anything at all in those rooms. I would highly recommend Hush. Ned was great to work with, very accessible. They team was on time. Started exactly on the day they said they would be there and finished exactly on time two weeks later.

Hush was the right guy for the job. Hired them for acoustical consulting services and ended up hiring them to do my studio soundproofing and treatment.
