I called John to assist me with my acoustic ceiling removal in Waikiki. He offered me a good deal. Since I already scraped most of the popcorn off I asked him to help me install coats of drywall compound on the ceiling there was many imperfections showing on concrete, he came early the next day and got started. He mudded the whole entire living, dining and kitchen ceilings and got them sanded out to smooth. I could then prime and paint it myself saving money. John's a very patient, detail oriented worker and takes pride in tedious finish work. I highly recommend utilizing his services.

I called John to inquire about his services and to determine if he could come out and check out the job. Initially John seemed like a nice guy, but after asking him to come inspect the job and provide me a quote prior to work starting, John's tone very quickly changed. He immediately told me that driving 45 minutes to and from my job was "not something he was used to so he would need to charge me" and that he "wouldn't provide a quote before work because he needed to see the job first and couldn't give me a quote from the pictures." So, logically, doesn't it make sense to come see the job? I iterated to him that I wouldn't feel comfortable starting a job without a previous quote as that is not the norm in the construction world and leaves the client with a potentially exorbitant cost at the end that was not agreed to. John again got snippy with me and scoffed and said "well you clearly haven't read my reviews on Google and Yelp and all that. I have multiple 5 star reviews and I can't see myself ever doing that to someone." I'm not sure if that was supposed to make me feel confident in his trustworthiness, but I can assure you that when you talk down to people, scoff at them, and refuse to provide an inspection of the scope of work you don't win customers. I won't be using his services because I refuse to be spoken to disrespectfully and I refuse to have a job done without a previous contract.

Once again, John came to our rescue. Our water damaged drywall put us in a bind schedule wise. We needed to coordinate a number of trades in a short amount of time. John did a he'll of a job on my bathroom drywall, backer board and tile repair. It all started when there was a leak behind my condo shower wall from above so they had to cut out a tile & most of the backer board and another 15x15 in hole in the drywall adjacent in order to get through to replace faulty pipes. John came through, restored my drywall opening, paint matched entire wall, cut left over backer board to square & precision installed a new backer board w/red guard & installed a new ceramic tile perfectly inplace, & grouted, then John cleaned & reset my rental to perfection I mean 5 I highly recommend this guy.

John is the consummate professional. I was so sick of looking at the popcorn ceiling in my condo, I needed it gone. I am so pleased with John and his workmanship. I called him to repair water damaged from a leak in one of our bathroom ceilings. The ceiling was slightly textured thus he had to sand the entire ceiling, mud and repaint. He was able to complete this job + install a new ceiling fan in one day. They did a great job! The unit above me had their washer explode and messed up my ceiling. Initial repairman from the unit owners gave me a sketchy quote of just stripping some paint and slap on a new layer of paint. I called Honolulu Drywall Repair and they were phenomenal. I called them on a Saturday and they were able to come do an assessment within three hours. They gave me a much better assessment and was able to do the repair on that Monday. They came on time and was able to not only repair the damaged drywall in the ceiling, they were able to fix the paint all at once. Highly recommend their services!
