D and J were absolute lifesavers for our New York studio renovation! We were on an incredibly tight schedule and needed to move in within 14 days of getting our apartment. Even with the holiday rush just two weeks before Christmas, they met our deadline perfectly. The team was incredibly thorough and kept us informed through every step. We especially loved how friendly and personal the experience was. We got to meet the owner, who supervised the entire process to ensure everything was perfect. We even enjoyed hearing stories and seeing photos of their familythey are such lovely people that we now consider them friends! They handled a significant amount of work in a short window, including: Demolition: Removing old built-ins we didn't want. Flooring: Sanding and refinishing the hardwood floors beautifully. Brickwork: Exposing and sealing a hidden brick wall that the previous owner had covered up. Clean-up: They did a fantastic job cleaning up the site, even on a Saturday, so we could move right in. Their pricing was very reasonable, which we especially appreciated given the rush. Now that we are moved in, we are already looking forward to using them for our next phase of remodeling for our bathroom and closets. We highly recommend this team!

Designs By D&J, what can I say. They are truly the dream team... and by team, Im including myself in there too, haha. From the beginning of the project, D made every effort to help conceptualize my exact vision and came up with a great design plan to move forward with. The advice that she gave regarding my oversized medicine cabinet really helped to pull my bathroom together and I wouldnt have considered it had not been for her. I have had less than amazing experiences with contractors in the past, specifically where certain questions or follow-ups were treated like a nuisance. Jay and his crew understood that my home is my sanctuary and also my investment. Any concerns or questions that came up as we worked through my renovation, were always welcome and treated with respect. Answers were thorough and the approach to every detail of the project was handled with amazingly specific care - including the efforts made to keep not only my space, but the common areas outside of the work space, very clean at the end of each work day. Jay and I collaborated really well while trying to narrow down tile choices for my bathroom and the effort he made to ensure that we got exactly what I wanted (tile pattern, finish, and sizes) was beyond commendable. We agreed on the other design elements in the room, after coupling my needs with his expert advice. I even decided to switch one of my shower choices after considering his advice. Once we were clear on what needed to go where, the team went to work and the outcome was amazing! *before / during / after photos are included I also used the services of D&J for a project in my moms kitchen two years ago and the work done there was show-stopping as well. Every time someone walked in to the space, the kitchen is the area that received most of the compliments. This will always be my design firm and contractor of choice for any projects going forward. They have found a loyal customer in me.

Buyers beware! This contractor proved to be highly unreliable and unprofessional. They abruptly withdrew their initial offer and, shockingly, increased the price of a previously agreed-upon proposal just one day before the contract was set to be signed. This sudden change left us in a difficult situation after weeks of discussions. When we requested an itemized receipt to understand the rationale behind these alterations, they were either incapable or unwilling to provide one. This lack of transparency and professionalism was truly disappointing. Proceed with caution when considering this contractor for your project.
