I hired C-12 to replace a deck and support beams at my home. I cannot say enough about why I would never work with this company again. I was asked to meet the contractor at home depot to purchase the supplies for the work, which in itself was odd to me, but he reassured me this is how he builds trust with his clients. I stated once we had a contract for the work and the total labor cost then I would agree to purchase the materials myself. The materials were delivered the first week of april (4/8/24 between 2-6pm), per the contractors choice of date and specific time of delivery to which he stated that way he wanted be there to verify it was accurate. At the time of delivery he was not here to approve and said he couldnt get away once I was able to get a hold of him. After this, the wood and materials sat for almost 2 weeks until I was contacted by the zoning officer that the permit was incomplete and he needed to come out and measure my property. As of 4/29 i reached out to the zoning office to inquire about the permit and it was ready. The demo of the deck began 4/30, 22 days after the wood delivery; the contract stated the work would take 2 weeks, mind you. May 7th they were cleared to dig the footer holes (the wood and supplies had been sitting at my house since april 8th, almost a full month now.) Over the next two weeks I was advised there may be extra labor costs, there were multiple additional purchases and returns needed to be made at Lowes and home depot to complete the work, that was not included in the initial quote. When the materials were purchased Zach, the owner, stated he orders extra wood and returns the additional materials that arent needed. By the end of the job, after the job was somehow pawned off on his father through no communication from the owner himself, only by word of his father, I had a minor (60) credit at home depot and owe a bit more than that at Lowes. Cash was requested instead of checks intermittently, I requested a receipt via text at least for these amounts and kept an immaculate record of any moneys I had given to the father or son, as I am uncomfortable paying in cash with no paper trail. Once the work was finally completed, on May 21st, almost 6 weeks after the supply delivery, I wrote a check for the remainder of the labor I owed them. I was then confronted by the father in person trying to say that the moneys I paid him were for fuel for his truck or sawblades etc, none of which were in my quote or are my responsibility per our contract. I also then received a phone call immediately after from the son (owner) attempting to say they were underpaid as well, I fulfilled the contract I signed and agreed to despite them being in breach of contract per the time frame being almost tripled from the estimate. The quote was inaccurate, the work was mediocre at best, the amount of shims in the deck itself under critical support beams included, is like nothing Ive ever seen, the communication was non existent even when the entire job was apparently given to his father without my approval. When the job was given to his father, after giving him my contact information to communicate when he would be here to work, the father then requested me on Snapchat, a social media platform; which I find incredibly inappropriate on top of everything else. The amount of cigarette butts and trash I needed to pick up around the front and back of my home was absurd. I have 2 small children (4 & 5) that this is their place to play, their yard was monopolized and endangered for an additional month due to the unfortunate decision of me hiring the wrong company to work with.

The work that was done was exactly what we wanted. We added in more work for new windows and he worked around our other contractors and plumber. Our timeline was extended but Zack make sure that everything was done to our liking, and when he was finished made sure that if we did see something that needed attention that he would come and fix the issue. My mom's kitchen looks amazing!

Father and son team James and Zack built us a very solid new second story wood deck and stairs. They tore down our old deck, leveled the existing roof, built a very solid new deck, added a screened porch, and took care of some unexpected extra work related to the new deck. If you are looking for excellent workmanship I recommend this father son team.

Very pleased with all the work done. New sliding glass doors, a big back deck, a window and some inside work. They clean up after each project. They are timely. If there is an issue, he takes care of it. Zach and crew are knowledgeable, kind, hardworking and extremely talented. My husband and I are happy with everything.
