I hired Josh to put my metal roof system on my house. When it came out crooked and the ridge cap was done incorrectly, he said my house was crooked. The manufacturer of the kit took one look at the result and said that I would have to replace the roof. I could not face that logistical nightmare. I'd hired four guys to hand carry my house kit up a steep hill. It was heavy, hard work. I was told taking the roof off would take twice as long as it took to put on. And then we would have to carry the new material up that hill again. And I would have to find a totally different crew, who would read the directions for my kit, to install the new roof system. And the cost of all of that would easily have been equal to the cost of a whole new kit! I could not face it. A couple months later, my carpenter heard about it, and he called and came up and worked on it. It has been mostly ok. There's one more thing I need to do with it before I can call it good. When Josh saw it, he saw it was wrong immediately, and to his credit, he admitted it. He offered to install my woodstove. He gave loads of legal advice. About another issue, not this. So, I honestly don't know what happened, but I can guess, but he came to install the stove chimney, and he was pissed because I was putting in a firewall with an airspace behind the stove. He was pissed at my loft access. He was, like, yelling about anything and everything in my house. I had a wrong part for the chimney, and we couldn't put up the chimney that day. So, you have to sign a contract that he is not responsible for anything of his work after a year. I would not sign anything like that if I were you. It is very shady. You have three years to bring a case before the magistrate. But this guy requires you to sign that away. I just thought "what could go wrong? It is simple." I made a special trip into town to give him 2 copies of the build manual for my kit. I sent him several videos that were about eight minutes long at the longest. He and his hirees could not possibly have read them or watched the demos before installing my roof. I am just guessing, but I believe I have not heard from him because it's more than one year. His legal advice didn't pan out for me. And it did distract from his less than stellar work on my home. I asked him to write it down that he was doing the woodstove installation to make the roof thing right. He said sure, he would. But I guess it pissed him off. Because that is when he started with the criticisms. This is one - I could have built you a stick house for less money, and it would be better. And another one is if I ever went to sell the house, the home inspector wouldn't pass it bc it has fiberglass insulation. (This fiberglass does not particulate. Idk , it comes with the kit.) All I could think was, I am going to have to sell it "as is" because of the roof, which is very visible from the outside. And he put the roof on! The home inspector won't even have to come inside to not pass it. So, that is my experience with this outfit. Just lucky, I guess. And no, I would not recommend them. I liked Josh. But he thinks he doesn't need to read directions. There's this part of me that is expecting to be discredited and mocked for this review. I don't care anymore. I paid him full price, trusting that he would be honest. That is not my experience. It hurts.

Great company. I highly recommend them. Josh came on time every time, great communication, and took lots of time to find the best solution for my popcorn ceiling replacement. He took time to send several options and prices. The work was beautiful and a fair price. Recently his team renovated our 1917 church. I cant describe how beautiful it is. Its the perfect mix of modern updates while keeping the 1917 charm and look. Could not be more pleased with the work.

Josh built some stairs for my back deck and widen the door on my tool shed in the backyard, for my mower to get in. The stairs weren't attached properly. The trim under the Eaves to my tool shed was unfinished. Josh started the job May 8th 2025. I called him 2 weeks later about these issues. No response. There is more than one piece of trim to go on that tool shed. The doorstop is embarrassing. There is no diagonal bracing on the 2x4 frame doors. I'll be calling for a inspection. Will post results as well as pictures. Extremely sketchy company!

Once Josh showed me the extent of the damage done by the previous contractor, I called the state building officials in Raleigh. I recommend Josh Ring of Blue Star Home Repairs LLC and his crew. They all did a great job on my new construction house. Everyone showed up and got the job done in timely manners. Josh was very patient with me throughout the past year we worked together. There were a lot of big changes to our plans and he not only caught a lot of mistakes on our original designs architectural and engineering plans, but stayed with us and worked with us through a new plan. His prices were consistently open and fair and strictly formulated. I have been highly involved in the process and will be doing all the finishing work (they got the house dried in). Josh, and everyone involved, did not treat me as if I was totally crazy and unknowledgeable, but instead I have learned a ton and was able to ask lots of questions as things went along. As a young female taking on a large project as such I expected rolled eyes and talking down to - but I didnt feel that at all. And though they may have some jokingly bets on how much I call for help - they have all happily offered to help if (hopefully not when) I do. The building crew of 1-2 men and 3 woman finished all of the framing, roofing and windows/doors in avo 10 working days time - and they didnt cut corners. And another plus, Josh is a county paramedic, so if anyone were to get hurt, you have a first responder!
