I wish I could give a no stars. DON'T EVER HIRE Handyman Matters. While they have good reviews at Angie's list, my experience was below awful. Even though I usually don't spend much time writing reviews, this time I want to provide input on this horrible experience, so neighbors don't fall into the same trap. They were not professional, had poor business commitment, besides being pricey ( they charge per hour but it takes forever to get the job done ). I felt like I was ripped off, and let down on the job performed. They only finished hanging a planter, but didn't finish installing the Xmas lights, neither my patio lights as agreed. Also, said they could install an outlet, but don't have a license for it, so after looking at the job, they said they could not it ... Changed the appointments a few times, with very short notice ( day before ), and didn't include the Angie's list coupon on their price when I had to pay them. And to wrap it up, they damaged my deck. Hard to put in words my frustration with those guys. But this was their first and last time working for me. The way their office handled my request through their office - awful. Rude! When I think about the amount of work they performed during for hours, it was ridiculous. I wish I could add pictures to this review ... I am still waiting for them to come back to me about the refund of the coupon, as well as how they will fix the damaged deck, will update this review later with this input.

I paid for eight hours of labor and all I got was replacement of screens for sliding door, tightening of toilet paper mounts, and insulation of a piece of siding. Oh, and he tightened a few doors. But $1500?! Thats a little crazy and I definitely would not recommend using this handyman service. The only good thing I can say was that he was prompt. He didnt even take his garbage with him.

People often judge a company solely by the initial product, forgetting that customer service can play an equally important role. With Ace Handyman Services, customer service became the most important aspect of our experience. We had a difficult job of installing a new door frame around an existing door. Our regular contractor declined to do it because he knew how tricky it could be. We hired a worker through Ace Handyman, and the work was subpar. When I alerted the company that I was unhappy, they sent out their manager to assess the work. He completely agreed with me, not trying to defend what was obviously shoddy craftsmanship. At no additional cost to me, they fixed the problem. And let me assure you, they lost money on it. They had to replace several planks of siding, paint, sand, and go above and beyond. As a former business owner myself, I know how painful it can be to lose money on a job, but Ace Handyman is committed to doing the job right. Melissa Boatwright and her team are extremely professional and honest. I highly recommend them.

Pablo came today to replace our broken toilet. He did such a great job. He even noticed a part of the shower where the caulking was damaged and fixed it. He removed the old toilet and installed the new one so efficiently. It looks beautiful and works perfectly. He was careful to leave the work area so clean too. Had handyman Ben Z come to our house to do three small projects, He did two out of three. One to tighten toilet seat, (done), two install shower head with wand (done). Apparently he did all this in two hours , @ a cost of $541.00 that included parts he purchased for both bathrooms. He said he would return next day to finish. Didnt come, I called they said Greg would call, he called back. Said they cant finish due to Washington law. Saying they cant do plumbing in Washington. No one said anything about that before Ben came. So we have to eat that sky high cost. My recommendation run, there are other people who can do the work at a lower cost.

Our kitchen sink garbage disposal was leaking, I called and they had a couple openings available the same day and John the handyman quickly found that the unit was old and rusted through., which was a huge help. John explained the issue clearly, looked up the replacement cost, and took care of the installation. He was very friendly, professional, and did quality work. Ben was extremely good at discussing the action needed for the day for completing the job and set our expectations for the work that needed to be completed. As the installation of the bathroom vanity, plumbing and trim was happening Ben discussed any issues that came up and needed to be resolved. He then asked our opinion on which choice we preferred to remedy the problem. Things like walls being out of square and gave us a choices about how we wanted the results to look. Our project manager Greg was friendly, knowledgable, straightforward, and down-to-earth. Both my wife and I had a very good first impression and are looking forward to working with him in the future. The work is midway and we are thrilled with the quality. It's a great sign when other, unrelated contractors mention their high appraisals of the work in progress during their visits. The crew have been uniformly wonderful and incredibly skilled. They have been responsive to questions and offered great suggestions along the way. Edit: I continue to be so impressed by the professionalism and skill of everyone at ACE Handyman Services as we head towards the final stretch. The basement is starting to look so amazing, and the improvements ACE has incorporated are really going to make the basement more functional. Edit 2: I moved into the flooring phase of my project and the flooring installer discovered some water damage and wood rot. I called ACE Handyman Services again and they scheduled me in the next day to do a beautiful, extremely professional repair. The floor is better than new, with the old squeak removed. Im so happy.
